i'm wandering aimlessly around the kitchen at 5:00am, simply because i couldn't get to sleep.

i spent ages watching the new season of stranger things in bed, so i could catch up to jennie, but then i obviously spent too long looking at blue light and inevitably couldn't sleep.

i haven't slept in 2 days, actually.
chaeng and jennie are out of the house for christmas holidays, and they'll be back late tonight.

i walk over to the bench, grabbing an apple and sitting down on a stool. i'm not even sure if i ate it, because i suddenly remembered that it was christmas. i chuckle softly to myself, glancing over at the christmas tree jisoo and i had decorated the night before.

it would have cost way too much for me to fly to thailand and see my parents, and it would've been the same the other way around, so i just decided to stay here. maybe see some friends or something.

jisoo's family were scattered for the holidays, and her parents were recovering from the news of her not being completely heterosexual, so she stayed back with me.

which is okay, because i probably needed a chance to bond with unnie.

sighing loudly, i put the apple back in the bowl, and lay down on the couch, staring at the white ceiling.

"hey, is everything okay?" jisoo suddenly appears out of nowhere, standing in the jaundice glare of the kitchen light.

i jump up slightly, my eyes widening and my brows furrowed.

"jisoo! you scared me! what are you doing up?" i question her, getting up quickly to boil the kettle.

she shrugs. "can't sleep without rosie in the same room." she replies simply, pulling out a stool.

i spin on my heels, smirking at her.

"more like can't sleep without her, full stop." i joke, pouring jisoo and i a cup of tea.

she stares at me dumbfounded.
she finally rolls her eyes and exhales loudly.

"alright, how did you know? did she tell you?"

"the eyes say it all, girl."

"wow, i really need to work on that."

"yeah. how long have you guys been dating?"

"oh, we're not dating." jisoo says quickly, taking the mug of tea from her hand gratefully and taking a long sip.

i purse my lips, leaning on the side of the bench, and checking the time on my wristwatch.

jisoo starts smirking suddenly, and i look up at her, confused.

"why are you smiling like that? you're scaring me."

"you must be super close with jennie, you've adapted her nervous tick." she states, gesturing to my wristwatch and smiling softly.

i take a long sip of my tea, staring at her with my brows furrowed.

"her nervous tick, she checks her watch when she doesn't know how to continue a conversation. she used to do it all the time when we started training, but it cooled down a bit. when you and rosie came along, she seemed more on edge." jisoo explains.
