"for how long are you planning to stand there for?" jennie remarks irritatedly, as she tries to get by a cross-armed lisa in the doorway of their bedroom.

"until you tell me what you want for your birthday." lisa says coyly, smirking as she watches jennie roll her eyes, pouting furiously.

the brunette groans loudly, taking a chance as she shoves lisa slightly, who wobbles, grabs onto the door frame, and manages to stay upright.

the blonde winces jokingly, putting her hand to her head.

"i can see the light, i will never live again." she says dramatically, and this annoys jennie just enough for the brunette to gather up some annoyance power and shove lisa out of the door frame.

"thankyou!" the brunette exclaims cheerfully, collapsing face down on her bed.

"well, ouch." lisa says coldly, but the brunette can tell she's joking.

"seriously though, what do you want?" lisa questions jennie, the blonde sitting down haphazardly on her unmade bed.

jennie sighs loudly, turning over to face lisa.

"my birthday's tomorrow, it's a bit late to ask." she says dismissively, checking her wristwatch and cursing under her breath when she realises it's almost dinner.

lisa lets out a light chuckle as she sits up, playing with the rings on her fingers. "i love how you think i hate you so much that i haven't even gotten you a present yet. i've already gotten you a present, i was just asking if you wanted anything i could get for you before tomorrow." she jokes, standing up as jennie's glare softens to a gaze.

"well, thankyou. but unfortunately, it's too late in the day for you to get me a present because it is dinner time." jennie replies matter of factly, walking out of the room abruptly to the kitchen, lisa following closely behind, rolling her eyes.

"are we gonna order takeout?" lisa asks, leaning on the counter.

in perfect timing, rosie walks in, grinning widely as she walks up to lisa, wrapping her arms around the blonde's waist.

"did someone say... takeout?" she jokes dramatically, causing lisa to burst out into laughter.

jennie looks away from the two, scouring the fridge as she ignores the jealously swirling in her stomach at lisa and rosie's interaction.

i wish she'd let me do that.

the brunette shook the thoughts out of her head, inhaling sharply.

"no, you did not hear anything about takeout because i am making food." she says adamantly, as rosie and lisa jeer annoyingly at her.

"i hate how motherly you are sometimes. i wish you didn't care." rosie jokes wistfully, flicking jennie's shoulder as she walks by to grab a drink from the fridge.

the aromatic smell of fried food swirls around the kitchen and finds its way up lisa's nose.

lisa pulls out a stool at the bench, sitting down tentatively as she tries to figure out what jennie is making.

the blonde sucks air though he teeth, looking around the room.

"alright, what dumb question do you wanna ask me?" jennie huffs, turning around and crossing her arms, flicking her tea towel over her shoulder.

"that was hot." lisa remarks, grinning.

jennie scoffs. "hot is what your hand will get if you try and do that without my supervision. now, what do you wanna ask me?" she jokes, smiling softly at a wide eyed lisa.
