chapter 48

2nd october 2016 (same day as last chapter but at like 4pm)

lisa flitted around the kitchen, stirring pots and frying things as she stuck out her tongue in concentration, trying to chop the kimchi up.

jennie had been gone for a couple of hours on a date with kai, and when her and lisa had a small conversation over text, the brunette had mentioned wanting kimchi fried rice for dinner.

since lisa was inexplicably bored, obsessed with pleasing jennie and an overall nice person, she ducked out to the shops to pick up the ingredients, despite her horrible cooking skills.

it was all going okay til she was listening to "untouched" and she felt the sudden but not unusual urge to dance.

then the kitchen started smelling like smoke.

"shit!"

there goes the rice.
it's okay, she'll just try again.

after the blonde had finally started a new pot of rice and sat down at the bench to watch over it, positive she would not let it burn this time, her phone rung loudly.

"hello?"

"hello darling, it's mum!"

"oh, hi mum! how are you?"

"good, good. tired. how's your glamourös celebrity life going? i saw you on television the other night."

"really? wow. well, it has its up and downs. my management has been really strict lately."

"yeah? about what?"

"...just things- doesn't matter. how was your day?"

"it was good, your little cousin came over with your aunt and she mentioned blackpink, so i asked her who her favourite member was, and guess who she said?"

"who..?"

"jennie! isn't she just an angel?"

lisa didn't know if she was talking about jennie or her cousin. she bit her lip in confusion as she stared blankly at the pot in front of her.

"lisa? you there?"

"oh, yeah, total angel. hey, i know this is a little stupid, but how do i know when rice is finished cooking?" lisa asked dumbly, getting up and opening to pantry to see if she can find find anything to snack on.

"doing some cooking now are we? i guess the girls have really had an influence on you." lisa's mum replied coyly.

the blonde rolled her eyes in response, smiling softly at a polaroid stuck on the wall in the pantry of jennie kissing lisa's cheek.

"yeah, they really have."

"okay, well, rice is cooked once it's soft enough to bite straight through without that little hard part in the center. make sure to keep adding water! and put a lid over it."

"great, thankyou mum." lisa replied warmly, peering into the pot and digging a spoon into the rice when she heard a key turn in the door.

"hey, i'm home." jennie said loudly, slamming the door as she huffed and dropped her bag down in the floor.

lisa's eyes widened, instantly putting down the spoon and bringing her phone up to her face.

"okay mum, nice chat, but i have to go now, bye!"

"bye sweetie! love you."

lisa quickly hung up, trying to act cool as she leant on the bench, watching jennie as she walked in, the brunette spotting lisa's unsual positioning and rolling her eyes at it.
