"shh, you're okay." lisa whispers, and jennie feels her hot breath on her mouth as the brunette falls back into her lips, pushing the blonde further into the bed...
after an hour of floating in the deep waves, the girls had resorted to drying out on the warm sand, getting ready for the party.
"so. we're just chucking sleeping bags on the sand and hoping we don't get kidnapped?" rosie asks stupidly, shoving a dumpling down her throat from their trip to the shop down the street.
everyone sits in silence as looks are shared.
"i mean, yeah. we'll be fine, it's a pretty closed off beach, plus, they'll be heaps of people later, it'll feel pretty less lonely." jennie replies reassuringly, slowly dragging the dumplings towards her, earning a hurt look from rosie.
"you can't eat all of them, you know. we get hungry too." lisa jokes, eying jennie with a judge look on her sunkissed face before stealing the dumplings back.
the sand tickles beneath the girl's feet, the gentle afternoon wind picking it up and moving it around.
the water laps peacefully at the sand, birds pecking at the puppies left by the waves.
the girls have set up the snack table, having a small snack before people start showing up.
lisa bought her little speaker, as she finished off the playlist she had made, pushing another dumpling into her mouth.
"that's more than enough, i haven't had a single dumpling, pass them to me." jisoo complains, earning a glare out of lisa.
"ooh, you should add untouched by the veronica's, it's sooooo good." jennie suggests, eyes widening in excitement.
lisa furrows her brows, handing the brunette the phone.
"i've never heard it. but you can add it, add some other songs as well, i can't think of any other ones to add." the blonde shrugs, getting up to stretch in the sand, rosie joining her.

lisa hears a couple cars pull up in the parking lot, looking up to see her friends climbing out the seat.
grinning widely, the blonde waves to them, as the stretch their legs.
"did you really make us drive 2 and a half hours for a beach party?" kazuha yells out from the parking lot, as her brother appears behind her with a pack of beer, and a cooler hopefully full of spirits.
"mm, yeah. new years on the beach is worth the long drive." jennie calls out, walking up to help kazuha's brother with the drinks, and smiling awkwardly at him.

lisa thinks to herself, dusting off the awkward interaction.
9:00pm
3 hours later, another 30 people have shown up, dancing around the speaker and kicking up sand.
lisa spots jennie talking with kazuha's brother again, who's name was revealed as hyunwoo after the blonde had asked about 20 of her friends.
