lisa wakes up on the hard floor, a classic sleepover experience.

rubbing her head, she sits up and looks around.
she spots rosie on the couch and jisoo on a recliner, fast asleep.

running her hands through her wavy bleached hair, she stands up, fighting off the morning dizziness, stumbling into the kitchen, where she spots jennie.

she's sitting on a stool by the counter, with her head in her hands, her brown hair cascading over her face like a curtain.

"morning." lisa says sleepily, pulling out a chair next to jennie.

"morning."
"you alright?" the blonde asks jennie worriedly.

"uh- irene passed the test." the brunette responds unhappily.

lisa inhales sharply, readjusting her position, just as jennie does the same so they can look eye to eye.

"are you gonna ignore me again?"  the blonde whispers, in fear of her voice cracking.

jennie smiles sadly at her.

"i think i have to." she finally replies, exhaling slowly.

"i really don't wanna do this again. jisoo and rosie will be wondering what happened, i mean, the whole dynamic of the group will be fucked up. i don't care if i get beat up. don't shut me out." lisa says firmly, looking ahead of her, breaking eye contact with jennie.

"it's just when she's there. we're being so dramatic. we'll be fine." jennie tries to reassure lisa, resting her hand on the blonde's forearm.

"i don't think it's fine. i reckon it's completely stupid and paranoid." lisa snarls, pulling her arm away from jennie's touch.

"can we try to be civil about this? seriously, it's only when irene's there. it's two months."
jennie replies, trying to soften the situation.

"you said you didn't have to ignore me anymore. you said that you didn't care if irene found out. you said that if i did get beat up, you would protect me." lisa says, stinging jennie in a vulnerable place.

"and most of all, you said that we didn't have to do this anymore. you lied. and i'm not being dramatic, you are. if this is the kind of person you are, getting ignored by you for two months isn't worth being friends with you." lisa snaps, clenching her jaw.

as you'd imagine, that hit jennie like a ton of bricks.

the brunette looks hurt, and opens her mouth to say something, but lisa is too quick.

"i'm sorry. i have to go. tell rosie i said thanks." lisa says quickly, rescuing herself from whatever the fuck that was.

"uh- bye." jennie tries to choke out, but it's so quiet it's almost a whisper.

why did i bring irene up? everything was perfectly fine and i had to ruin it. yet again, lisa is overreacting. i'll let her cool down, then try and talk to her again.

———
lisa slams her hotel room door, throwing herself on her bed, and screaming.
until she remembers her schedule is so tight she barely has time to scream anymore.

the blonde tries to pick herself up, straightening her hair.

what a fucking disaster.

————
the next week goes by quickly. and every day it's the same:
go to training.
see lisa.
feel shit.
exchange a single awkward smile, which is unsurprisingly not returned.
go home.
repeat.

it's getting boring.

jennie thinks to herself, spooning pasta into her mouth at full speed so she can get to sleep as quickly as possible.

group training is making great progress, and their group is set to debut mid-early next year.

jennie doesn't feel like she's made much progress at all. if the progress involves sulking around and eating unholy amounts of pasta, she'd be pretty good at that.

the brunette leans back in her seat, cracking her neck. she closes her eyes and inhales.

how can someone you've known for two weeks fuck up your life?
both the girls have been wondering the same thing.

another week passes with no result.

apart from the elevator moment.

jennie and lisa find themselves, yet again, alone in the yg building elevator.

jennie leans in the corner, checking the time on her watch.

lisa looks up at her through her bangs.

"hey."

the brunette looks startled, jumping slightly.
"oh, it's you. hi." she responds shyly.

"how are you?" lisa asks, smiling softly.

the brunette chuckles.

"you want the truth or the lie?" she replies snarkily.

"the truth." lisa snaps back, pulling her jacket tighter around her waist.

"the truth is that i'm great. the truth is the lie." she jokes, checking her watch again.

lisa laughs softly. "same. so has the time on your watch changed since you checked it 47 seconds ago?" the blonde asks, smirking.

jennie blushes.

"actually, yes, it has. it was 9:09, now it's 9:10."

"aha."

"aha what?"

"nothing."

"is this your level?"

"how many times, jennie. we're on the same level."

"oh yeah."

sorry it was so short
