there is sand, everywhere. i can feel it.

when i move in my sleeping bag, i hear it.

well, when i tried to move. there's a large weight on me, draped across my stomach.

it's rosie.

my breath hitches in my throat, as i watch her eyelids flutter when i move slightly.

i raise my head slightly, careful not to wake her. everyone's sprawled across the beach, beer cans littered across the sand.

jennie and lisa have fallen asleep ten or so meters away, sharing a sleeping bag as jennie spoons lisa, her blonde hair falling gently over her face into the sand.

rosie breathes deeply, her chest rising and falling in pattern with mine.

funny, i always try and match people's breathing pattern's but i could never do it naturally.

my throat runs dry as i open my mouth to inhale the salty air, tasting the alcohol from last night on my breath.

i don't remember much, except that it was so much fun, and rosie kissed me again, in front of everyone else.

i looked for jennie's reaction when it happened, but she just smiled softly like she already knew. i watched as lisa gazed at her in only a way i look at rosie.

i wonder how much longer it will take for those two.

i'm knocked out of these thoughts when rosie stirs beneath me, wrapping her arm tighter around my waist, sending shivers up my spine.

"morning, i can practically hear your brain thinking, you're all tense. you alright?" rosie whispered hoarsely, sitting up and rubbing her eyes, her bed hair framing her face perfectly as i leant forward and pressed a quick kiss to her soft lips.

she was taken by surprise clearly, as her hands tensed as they found my shoulders, pressing her own lips to mine in reciprocation.

i could taste spirits on her warm breath, her hands snaking up to my hair as she pulled me back down onto the sand, and i feel her teeth against my lips when she giggles, causing me to do the same.

i finally pull away, admiring her face as i lean over her.

she has some of the most captivating eyes, it's like they're asking you 20 questions all at once, screaming at you. other times, they're deep pools of brown i'd kill to jump into, drown and die in them.

"morning to you too." i choke out, smiling softly as she studies my face.

"stop staring at me, it's unusual."

"i can't stop, it's seriously a problem." i joke, sitting up and tucking my knees under my chin as the sun peaks out over the ocean's horizon, casting an orange glow across the whole beach.

"you're all glowy." rosie jokes, snaking her arms around my waist and leaning her head into the crook of my neck.

"when are those lovebirds gonna wake up?" i ask sarcastically, referring to jennie and lisa who are lowkey cuddling.

"when jennie realises she's gay. i don't even talk to her much, but whenever she's near my gaydar starts beeping very loudly."

i snort, holding back my laughter.

"good morning. how are you guys feeling?" a voice rings out behind us, as a very tired looking kazuha stumbles to sit down next to us.

"oh, hey. we're good. not bad, but also not good. you?" i say tiredly, earning a small smile out of the younger girl.
