january 16th, 2016, jennie's birthday

"happy birthday to you!" lisa whispers loudly in my ear, the light streaming through my window as i jolt awake.

"huh?"

"happy birthday to you!" she repeats, grinning like an animal as she holds me tighter, swaying slightly.

"oh." i say flatly, rolling my eyes as she chuckles at my antics.

"happy birthday dear jennie!" lisa exclaims, squeezing my shoulders tight.

what did i do to deserve this?

"must you sing the whole song?" i groan out, shutting my eyes as i lean back into lisa.

"..."

"yes, now let me finish. happy birthday to you!" lisa quips speedily, wrapping her arm around my waist as i lean into her shoulder.

i can't help the grin that crosses my face, the fact that my best friend woke me up with hugs and a birthday song. i also can't help the pounding in my head.

"god we got knocked out last night." i groan, putting my hand to my forehead, trying to massage the pain out of my head.

lisa smiles softly, looking down at me with mischievous eyes.

"you're such a lightweight. honestly, jisoo and i had at least 3 cocktails, and we're lightweights. you though, your a different story. one beer and then one cocktail and you're asking strangers to marry you." the blonde jokes.

"...did i actually do that?"

everything from last night comes flooding back in a wave, as i remember kissing lisa's neck.

it was such a dumb thought, but god her neck was just there for me to take and it looked so soft and warm and argh.

"no, you didn't. but, you did stand up on a stool at the bar and declare your love for ice cream." lisa starts, raising her eyebrows at me.

curious, i tilt my head, looking down at her soft, inviting lips.

"uh, yeah, you did that and so then a man told you to get down, so you went along and started swearing a bunch at him. there were couple words i didn't even know. i'm not sure they existed, in fact. when you did get down, as we were walking out of the bar, you pointed to a stranger and yelled out "shark!" and starting screaming hysterically, and no joke, you tired to climb up a tree." lisa rants, smiling softly as she comes to a stop, her eyes glinting.

wow.

"don't let me out at night." i groan, scrunching my eyes as i nuzzle further into lisa's neck, as to hide from the cruel world.

and sharks.

i can't believe i'm 20.

i don't feel different, i just feel old. old especially comparing to lisa, who's still 18, 2 months off 19.

i hear cars pass outside our window, and the steady, comforting rhythm of lisa's chest moving up and down.

"comfy there?" she whispers in my ear, her breath gently tickling my nape.

"yes, don't mind me, just hiding from being 20. and sharks. and tonight." i whisper nervously, giggling like a schoolgirl.

i can feel lisa's jaw move above me, and i can tell she's grinning widely.

"tonight's gonna be so much fun, i absolutely most definitely cannot wait." the blonde exclaims happily, squeezing me tighter when she suddenly jumps up, with her hands on her hips as she grins widely.
