chapter 8

jennie knocks loudly on rosie's door at 5:30, balancing a plate on one arm and a bag on the other.

no-one answers, so jennie sighs in frustration, knocking again.

another 30 seconds and no-one comes to the door.

the brunette groans and kicks the door just as lisa opens it, earning the blonde a rough kick from jennie.

"shit sorry." the brunette says, holding back a giggle.

lisa leans in the doorway.
"i told you to bring your happy side." she says, smiling softly.

the brunette looks down, chuckling.

"got it. can i come in?" she replies.

"uh, well, now i'm not so sure." the blonde says evilly, locking her eyebrows.

"i brought cake?" jennie says, grimacing.

lisa smiles, chuckling.
"that better be some good cake. come in."

an hour later, the girls are all comfy on the sofa, watching frozen.

"ro, how'd you even get an apartment?" lisa asks the brunette, passing the popcorn to her.

"uh-oh. here comes foodsè." jisoo whispers, causing jennie to laugh.

"shut up chu. well, if i don't pass, i have to stay here anyway, i have nowhere to stay if i go back to australia, really. if it doesn't work out i'll just get a job and continue living here." rosie says, shoving a handful of popcorn into her mouth.

"yeah, i really wanna stay here but i'm not sure if i'd be able to get a job, like would it be worth it to get an apartment if stuff doesn't work out?" lisa asks, snatching the popcorn back from rosie.

"i say do it. you've got nothing to lose, really." jennie says, joining the conversation.

"okay but kristoff is such a smash." the brunette continues, giggling girlishly.

"he looks like an old fart." jisoo claps back, crinkling her face.

"you look like an old fart. but yes, kristoff is gorgeous. i love this movie." lisa says matter-of-factly.

"how much longer til the test results are out?" jennie asks, pulling out her phone.

"still an hour. focus on the movie." rosie says, eyes glued to the screen, watching as olaf gets impaled by an icicle, causing her to giggle.

"do you guys need more popcorn?" lisa asks the group, showing them the empty bowl.

jisoo fake gasps. "oh no! foodsè has struck again!"

"SHUT UP!"

"i'll take that as a yes for more popcorn. come help jennie?" lisa chuckles, getting up from the couch.

jennie nods, and gets up as well.

"jen! you let all the cold air in through the blanket!" jisoo whines.

"do you mind melting the butter?" lisa asks jennie, handing her a bowl of butter and pointing to the stove.

"not at all. you nervous for your test results?" the brunette replies, standing by the stove as she waits for the butter to melt.

"only a little." lisa chuckles, bending down to watch the popcorn pop in the microwave.

jennie smiles, watching the blonde trying to find a comfortable position to watch.

"you look so silly right now lisa, honestly i-" jennie is interrupts by her phone ringing.

lisa turns around, with a confused look on her face.

"oh... hey irene. oh, i'm just at my uh- grandparent's house. why? no, it's just me... yep...
did you need anything? okay cool. yep, text you later... bye."
the brunette hangs up, exhaling slowly.

"what did she wanna know?" lisa asks, pulling out a stool.

"who i was with. what a creep." the brunette replies, shaking her head and stirring the butter.

lisa sighs.

"i don't think you've been ignoring me enough when she's around. i'm worried for your safety." the blonde blurts out, staring at the ground.

jennie smiles sadly.
"i didn't want to make you feel shit. we talked about this. i watched her dance routine, she won't pass. she won't be able to watch me again. there's nothing her older brother can do if he can't reach me." the brunette replies casually, taking the butter off heat and pouring it over the popcorn.

"i know... i just worry, that's all." lisa breathes out, smiling softly.

"HURRY UP GUYS, LET IT GO IS ABOUT TO START!" rosie yells from the living room, causing jennie and lisa to chuckle.

"okay, we better go. let me know if someone tries to beat you up." lisa chuckles, shoving jennie on the shoulder lightly.

"thankyou."

"for what? forgiving you after you kicked me?"

"no you idiot. for being someone i can talk to."

"oh. that. that's alright, i'm here whenever you need me."

"okay. open on the count of three: one, two, three!" the girls  yell out, as they open their test results.

a gasp is heard from jennie, lisa and jisoo, as they have passed with perfect grades. they're staying at yg for a bit longer.

everyone's waiting to rosie to say something, anything.

"rosie? what did you get?" jisoo asks, putting her hand on the brunette's shoulder in comfort.

"sorry guys. i'm really sorry that i... PASSED! YOU HAVE TO SPEND 2 MORE MONTHS WITH ME! HA!" rosie yells out suddenly, causing everyone to burst out into laughter, hugging each other tight.

jennie wraps her arms around lisa. squeezing her tight.

"you did it!"

the blonde inhales jennie's sweet scent, it's very lavender-ish.

"well, if it wasn't for you screaming at me about the hand thing, i wouldn't have passed." lisa thanks the brunette jokingly.

"oh shut up, i was just pissed with you. i think it's cute." jennie smiles, staring into lisa's eyes.

the rest of the night is spent dancing around the couch, eating cake and playing mario kart.

"okay, goodnight guys. i hope for my sake nobody snores."

"same."

"pancakes in the morning?"

"definitely."
