As you walked around a bit more before dinner, you couldn't help but be bothered by what Jake had said, even though you were trying so hard not too let it bother you.
"Kaira?" Ni-ki's voice echoed through your ears.
"KK? " Ni-ki said placing his hand on your shoulder.
"Hm? Yeah. " You said.
"You okay? " Ni-ki said.
You looked at Jake.
"Yeah, sorry. " You said.
He looked away from you.
You had to talk to him about this, the last thing you would want is too loose him as a friend.
"Yall hungry yet? " Jake said interrupting.
"Yeah, I could eat. " Ni-ki said.
"Sure. " You said.
"Okay, let's go. " Jake said leading the way.
"Woah, can I stop at this store really quick, I won't be long, I promise. " Ni-ki said.
"Yeah course, go for it maknae. " Jake said.
"Okay cool! I won't be long! " Ni-ki said walking inside the skate store.
You and Jake sat down at a table and waited for Ni-ki.
"You okay? " Jake added.
"Oh yeah, yeah. " You said.
"I hope I didn't scare you with what I said. " Jake added.
"No, no it's okay, I just wasn't expecting it. " You said.
"Yeah, I wasn't expecting you to find out either, but things slip out, it happens. " Jake added.
"Yeah, it's all good, I just have a question though? " You added.
"Shoot. " He added.
"Did you mean what you said? " You added.
Jake smiled.
"Yes I did, it's been hard not too think about. " Jake added.
"Oh, so you did really mean it? " You said.
"I did yeah, I hope that's okay? " He added.
"Yeah, if I'm being honest, I've also been thinking about it. " You said.
Jake looked at you surprised at what you had said.
"Wait, you've been thinking about it too? " He added.
"I have yes. " You said.
"Kaira, you should've told me. " Jake said.
"I know, I'm sorry, but like you said, with Ni-ki and my parents around it's hard to talk about it. " You added.
"Well how about this. " Jake said moving over to the sit next too you.
"Go on. " You said.
"Let's just act like nothing happened for the rest of our trip, so nothing seems weird or out of place, and when we get home, we can talk about it, how's that sound? " Jake said.
"Really? Would you be okay with that? " You added.
"I'm okay with anything that has too do with you, you know this, I'll always be on your side. " Jake said.
You smiled.
Jake smiled back.
"Can I just say though? " Jake added.
