-:THE SMALL SCALE WORLD:-

We say that a collection of small things make something really big, really unique. Every big thing starts being small and today's topic is dedicated to all the small people who have a big heart.

Everyone here has gone to malls, to big markets. With the air condition on in full blast on sunny days, it feels like heaven when you walk in 😌. You buy stuff and you leave. In doing so, you miss noticing a little something.. In many countries you have vegetable vendors and other small stalls on the roads. Especially the developing countries have these kind of small scale industries widely spread. In India I have passed by some on the train platforms too.

We tend to pay a set amount of price at the food court or the big grocery malls. We never argue about it. The amount is said and we give cash or card. Within no time we are out of the mall.

What an irony! For the same amount of stuff and for a lower price on the stalls we tend to be like a bargain king or queen and lower the already lowered price tag. Everyone would flaunt and show off how much money they have saved but at what cost! 😓. Don't worry! I was no less. I had the same behavior. 😒Then something happened, which changed the way I looked at it forever.. 😌

I was once just going to the mall to buy vegetables and stationary. Like everyone I was also in the mood of going to one place and get it over with as quickly as I can. As I walked towards the mall, I heard a lady's voice asking me to buy books. I looked around but I saw no one. I heard it again and this time I looked at the right place. A feet or two behind me and on the ground sat a lady with ragged clothes. I completely overlooked her while marching towards the mall 😳! I turned back and walked towards her. As soon as I was close to her, she saw up and the hair on my hands just stood up with chills. She was completely blind😱. I asked her, "If you can't see, how did you manage to call me?" She replied with a smile, "I can sense moments. And I can hear properly." Still in the state of shock, I asked her, "I am sorry I guess despite having eyes I didn't see you." With a faint smile she asked me, "Are you going to the mall to buy books?" I replied, " Well ya. I am going to buy books, some stationary and grocery. I have two three books with me but I always keep some in spare coz I am a student." She said, "If you don't mind can you buy a book from me? I have kids and it's the only way I can support them. I have my husband but his income isn't sufficient for the entire family. If you buy a book from me, I will give the second one at half the price." I was still shocked yet amazed that despite being visually impaired, she has the courage to sit in the sun all day and sell her books. Deeply touched I said, "I will buy a dozen books (12 books to be precise 😉😝) since my year has just started and I will need books for all subjects. I will buy them on one condition. The condition is that I will give full price for it." She was almost in tears. She said, "I sit here for practically the whole day and no one cares to buy books from me or even look at me. I am so glad that you turned around and came back. God bless!" I smiled and gave her money. Without eyesight she recognized the amount and gave me change. My eyes just popped at what I saw. 😳 Perfect change! I told her, "Aunty, take care and you are doing an amazing job. Don't you worry. There are people like me in the world who will care enuf to look back and take two stops before the mall to buy books from you." She said now with an even bigger smile. "I just pray for that every single day." 😇

I walked away with a smile and a heart full of content.

"SOMETIMES HAPPINESS CAN COME UNEXPECTEDLY. SEE THE WORLD WITH OPEN EYES. WHO KNOWS YOU MIGHT HELP SOMEONE TOO.." 👼🏻
