We have been born in a competitive world. The moment a kid steps in school, the era of competition starts. It ends when you pass away I guess.. Who knows what we'll be competing for there too? 😜
Competition is a two sided coin.. It's good and bad.. But before I jump on to the bad side.. Let's start with some good words about it too.. 😊.
With competition comes desire. A deep desire to win. To succeed. To become the best. We all want that. Don't we? It's good to be a little competitive. You tend to strive harder. You will even achieve your goals faster than what might take you years to do so. 😎 Some say it's for fun. It is fun alright but do they really keep just the attitude of fun? Winning and succeeding might look amazing. But at what cost?? That's the real question. 😒
There is a dark side of competition too. 👿 A side which comes out of jealousy. It's like when a person sees someone succeeding and he doesn't. He never saw the efforts that the person has put in, he just saw the achievements. What has been achieved is something he doesn't have. It's something he really wants and he couldn't get. That's jealousy.
Another side that comes out is ego. 😈 Oh ya! The ego that some people have, gosh! It's ridiculous. It's like they absolutely see or say nothing beyond themselves. It's like the whole world revolves around them. Sometimes winning a competition creates that.
The question is why can't people be down to earth? What's the point of winning if no one will be there to celebrate it? All because of the attitude he has. No one will ever be happy for him and look at him with no respect at all.
My funda (understanding) on this is that there is a third side to competition. It's called the "HEALTHY" competition. A competition where you give your best to compete and if you don't win, you have the guts, humanity and sportsmanship spirit to congratulate who has but not keeping ego and jealousy.
It's about not losing your hope if you lose and not losing your character if you win. It's about being a balanced person. That's the key.
"Don't lose yourself in your loss or your success."
Hope it boosts a healthy competition in you too.. 😉😊😎
