Chapter 2: Wolves and Goblins

You and Rimuru headed out of the cave slowly, Rimuru killed and devoured anything he could on the way up as you walked calmly by his side and just watched- you didn't have any absorption skills you so just enjoyed the walk until the both of you noticed the large metal door that acted as the cave's enterance and were about to head out before seeing it begin to open.

You dragged your little slime buddy backwards into a dark crevise as you were both able to watch as a party of humans entered the cave and began to go invisible before heading deeper inside which you could see but Rimuru couldn't. You quickly carried him out as you made it into the forest and outside world, the place was stunning- definetly beat being in the old city and now you were able to enjoy yourself being free- you look at Rimuru and sat him on you shoulder, communicating through his thoughts to you still

Rimuru; " I knew there would be but I was suprised to see humans, maybe we're closer civilisation than we thought "

You; " Hopefully but we'll never know until we find some "

Rimuru hummed as he agreed, you began to walk deeper until Rimuru warned you that he could sense multiple bodies moving towards you- you got into a fighting stance as a bunch of goblins came out of the forest and stared at you all, their weapons and armor shabby looking but theu quickly bowed to you both as you exchanged glances in confusion;

Rimuru; " HELLO!! "

You; " jesus fucking wept!! "

Goblins; " Oh great one! We know of your powers please there is no need to show us them!! "

Rimuru; " sorry is this better "

Goblins; " Yes oh great one "

You; " great one? "

Goblins; " yes you too sir aswell, both of you are great beings with extraordinary powers- please may we beg for your assisstance "

You; " no need to beg, raise your heads and take us to you village, we'll be happy to help you all "

Rimuru; " yeah it's no problem don't worry about it "

The goblins cheered, guiding the both of you to the forest as you headed with them until you all reached a large clearing surrounded by hills and in the middle of those hills lay a village- small and shabby but the obvious home of these goblins, you headed down with them as you were immediately greeted by the village elder who got you both to come inside his tent and sit down- you sat in the seat with Rimuru in your lap as you both listened to the elder's plea:

Elder; " You see ever since the presence of our god vanished, the strong monsters have been returning and recently a pack of direwolves have been ravaging our village, they've killed and injured many of us already and next time they show up they may slaughter us all "

Rimuru; " well we're willing to help, not for free ofcourse since we'll want some information from you first ", He spoke in his mind to reassure you about asking for a price, " Offering our help for free may worry them, if we ask for information as payment they may be more inclined to trust us "

you nodded at his smart thinking, looking back at the goblins as it was your turn to speak;

You; " My first question is how did you know where we were and how did you know we were strong beings, my friend here is only a slime "

Elder; " surely you jest, the aura around you both is greater than anything we can sense in this forest "

Rimuru was confused, using his great sage ability which you could hear him asking in his head, to give a third person perspective of you both- you copied and soon you could see both of you emitting a terrorfying aura of magicules, your's being three times the size and density of Rimuru's. You asked great sage to hide it and why you couldn't see Rimuru's or him see yours.
