Chapter 9: The Village

You stepped back, war perperations were on their way and you were tasked with preparing the village for war- the ogres from the other day had evolved from being named and now one called Kurobe joined you and Kaijin in the forge as you all looked other eachother; you were discussing armour, weapons and housing all at once, it was agreed between you and Rimuru that he would lead political discussions, military affairs and foreign diplomacy whereas you were left in charge of finance, village development and internal affairs- this two man system would be tough but because if suited your personalities it would greatly improve output and growth.

Rimuru was a buisness man, he knew how to talk his way out of deadlines, satisfy clients whilst also getting what he wants and he knew how to plan making him the perfect leader for those looking in but he didn't know how to talk to people once they were friends only how to befriend them; then you come in, you were good at talking to people you know, people trusted you if they liked you and would agree to help you with anything, you were outgoing and friendly to those who already liked you and knew what needed to be done to help people but those who don't know you yet see you as pushy or too annoying to deal with.

Back to the forge meeting; You, Korube and Kaijin still needed to discuss armour and weapons for the ongoing war as an army may be needed. You didn't know what would be happening on the battlefield but knew they needed any help they could get.

You: " Best course of action would be to create an armour strong enough to protect them against our own swords, you're both amazing blacksmiths so I know the swords will far outpower their's but on the chance that our army can be mind controlled or that the enemy gets a hold of our weapons- the armour our men needs to wear has to be strong enough to withstand the swords "

The two looked proud at the compliments, looking between eachother as they begin to think and plan out the weapons.

Kurobe: " I think the swords should have power behind them, orcs are nasty things to killing them quicker would be advantageous "

Kaijin: " See I think we need a sword with speed, they're big creatures so going in hitting them and getting back would keep our men from getting hurt "

They both nodded, thinking again before turning to you- you had taken into account both sides and thought for a second before placing down a piece of paper and drawing, the sword was curved with a rapier style hand guard which covered the whole fist when wielded, the back of the blade curved like a scimitar but had jagged and orderly grooves in that back.

The two blacksmiths looked at it with interest, nodding to eachother as they tried to discover your line of thinking without needing help.

You: " This is a sword I saw in the east, it was quick and powerful- mixed with a sword from a land of beauty, we don't know what weapons the enemy will have so the best bet is to give each soldier one of these swords and a shield- they can hit with a heavy strike and deal a good amount of damage with great speed and jump back to defend with the shield in case the enemy has hammers or maces. The grooves in the back are from a dagger called the sword breaker, this will help in any enemy has swords, the blade will get trapped in the back of the blade and one swift, powerful motion can snap it. "

They looked at eachother, they began to laugh which made you think that they were mocking the idea and didn't like it- you stayed quiet and worried for a second thinking that the job might not be for you before they put their hands on your wide and scaley shoulders;

Kaijin: " Never in my life did I think someone would create a weapon that bested most my designs! "

Kurobe: " I always thought a sword could be fast or strong and not both, truly I have been proved wrong! "
