Chapter 43: Ripples turn to ruptures

I headed back to our room with Rimuru, my heart couldn't stop pounding ever so violently in my chest as our hands held each other's tightly in their clutch. He was so close to me, brushing up beside me and despite him actually being my wife, it still felt so unreal and I think I can comfortably say it scared me; I had to stop walking for a second as we headed back, sitting on the steps up as Rimuru's hand fell out of mine causing him to turn and face me, I could tell he was confused but he silently agreed and sat next to me on the stairs and looked out at the entire theme park whilst we enjoyed the lack of distance between us.

You: " It's been a long ride, slow burning and bumpy at times; almost like a road trip you think you're going to hate because the start is so boring and uncomfortable but the further and further we've travelled together made me realise something about this life, I wouldn't want to live it with anyone else. "

Rimuru: " I know how you feel, I never thought we'd actually be together in the end- always believed I'd only confess on my death bed but here we are sharing a name and a set of rings together "

You: " I always thought that you should be with someone better, I knew I was never a good person which was why I never got any confessions from girls it was just because I was a terrible person. In the end of the day I thought losing you would be better, letting you fly away to freedom and brighter skies but despite how selfish I feel for saying it, I don't want to lose you even for a second "

I looked over at Rimuru, the wind slowed letting our small and shallow breaths be the only thing on another could hear- my hand gently cupped his cheek as I pulled us together slowly and started to close my eyes; It was a sensual moment and one that made my heart race faster until small ripples in the water started to form all around us, slowly growing bigger- the sea was filled with ripples and a crew members voice shouted out from the edge of the park just before he was snatched from us.

The park member cried out of something coming from the water before a large pitch black tentacle burst from the sea and wrapped around his body almost covering him whole before throwing him back into the rippling water; Rimuru reacted quicker than me and put his hands up as one rather large ball of water came toppling towards us as if almost perfectly targeted for specifically us, the water crashed around us and sizzled as if it had been boiled to the point. Rimuru quickly turned to me as he lowered his hands and we shared a quick nod before separating and running to different parts of the park; I headed inside, my throat hurting from a couple warning shouts but I had to keep it up- running through the lobby of the hotel and screaming for all residents to evacuate towards the city was a pain but soon I got everyone out in about half an hour. Rimuru was outside, I needed to check on him, I had been hearing crashes and loud splashes into the water for a while now but it seems like the sound was continuing so hopefully he was ok.

I went to turn to run to Rimuru's side but something felt off and I skidded to a halt, the air felt heavy around me as if it were solid, the outside world seemed calm as if all sound had stopped before a few slow and almost melodic footsteps were heard heading down a hall to my right... my right? there is no hall to my right; I spun on my heel and looked over, a large passage way formed to my right and down it was the source of the slow footsteps. A girl, no older than probably 15 in appearance with a frilly and long dress on, her hair was bright pink with dark spots in certain areas almost representing scales with their design, she had bright amber coloured eyes that pierced through the dark hallway and seemed locked on almost maliciously onto me, I couldn't move for some reason almost as if my feet were bound to the floor with glue- I looked down and realised there was nothing, my lack of movement had to be fear then or paralysis, there was no way I could be scared of a girl.

???: " Don't try moving, it won't work very well especially not now... but don't worry we're not here to hurt you- and I mean you, that is if you agree to come with us? "

You: " Us? What are you going on about, something is happening outside and I need to get there "

???:  " No you don't, our friend is out there dealing with the blue haired slime but don't worry his death will be quick so there's no cause for alarm and obviously we'll let you keep the body "

You: " You're openly threatening my wife? "

???: " I couldn't care if he was your dog, you'll do as we say if you value your life "

You: " Bold of you to assume it's my life I value, here's something for you! "

You pressed your hands together, forming spirits of light for a surprise attack as she lifted up her hands slowly- the spirits burst forth in a large blast of light to blind her, you expected to be able to move but as your feet go to run towards her you see the roof above and feel your back hit the floor. 

???: " that was surprisingly easy"

You poked your head up, you had been bisected at the waist in almost an instant, there was no pain or sensation just a falling feeling as your torso hit the floor- when did she do it, how did she do it? You were scared, for the first time in ages you felt as if you were actually going to die. She looked down at you, a smirk hitting her face as she had almost the same copy of that devious smile you remember on Milim- now that you thought about it; the smile, the insane power, the crazed eyes, the weird appearance, the childish look, the pink hair... there was no way she had another child right?

???: " It seems you figured it out younger brother... we are the true children of Nava, I am the eldest daughter and we're here to collect our newest younger brother! "

You: " Bullshit! Milim called me her first, she never mentioned other children! "

???: " wait... mother actually visited and spoke to you, she has officially named you her only child?! You are the one we've been waiting for, the oldest brother will surely be pleased! "

Her expression turned for cocky to insane, a blush lining her face as her eyes sunk and seemed darkened by some twisted and sickened personality; she looked down at me again, raising her a hand to her cheek before gently waving and vanishing into thin air. The hallway she came through vanished with her yet the noise from outside returned, not one of fighting though... I needed to get out there, Rimuru must be hurt.

I forced my body to heal, pushing past all the burning sensations and pure torture that it was; my body rejoined together through reattached nerves and muscles as I managed to sit up with a newly formed scar across my stomach; I guess the wound she made couldn't heal perfectly for some reason, she may be more dangerous then I thought...?

Anyway, Rimuru. As soon as I was able, I rushed outside and made no time for stopping or even walking gently down stairs- resorting to sprinting and leaping to the bottom, the smoke began to clear on the battlefield and a wounded, tired Rimuru stood barely standing in front of a large black kraken type creature that had barely any scratches on it, the park around us was destroyed and a lot of loyal workers were dead on the ground unable to be saved. I began to walk forwards, magicules flowing almost chaotically through my body as I felt each surge rise and rise with more power every second until I reached Rimuru's side.

Rimuru: " I can't fight him, the wounds he causes don't heal and the more he makes the less magicules I have for some reason "

You: " Evacuate with the others, head to the city and wait for me there "

Rimuru: " ok be safe... please come back in one piece "

You: " don't worry I plan too "

Rimuru ran off, limping slightly and in a dreadful state- the sight was horrific to see, he was far too wounded and how dare something cause him that much pain, I wasn't here to help him. I allowed him to be hurt... Reaching into my pocket I decided to use something which was meant as a gift, two rings and two pearls resembling the sun and moon; the two wolves I thought originally. I swallowed the orbs and placed both rings on my opposite ring fingers before facing the ominous kraken that threatened the safety of the people I cared for, I would not let it's death be a peaceful one...
