Chapter 14: A hard fought battle is a well won one

You opened your eyes as magicules spiked from you- Rimuru soon ran up and strongly punched you which knocked you clean out. You were probably out for half an hour as you woke up in the midst of battle, Rimuru was using his gluttony skill to devour a bunch of Charybdis's scales- Milim landed in front of you angrily as she glared at you whilst you shuffled nervously:

Milim: " all healed up? "

You: " Y-yes ma'am "

Milim:" Good, now what was that idiotic plan of yours "

You: " I didn't want anyone getting hurt so I was going to sacrifice everything I had to finish the monster off "

Milim: " Dumbass, and what about Rimuru! You'd leave him behind to moarn you! "

You: " Atleast he'd be safe! I let him die once I'm not gonna make the same mistake again! I'm supposed to save him! I'm supposed to be the one protecting him! Who cares if I die doing so that's my purpose as his elder, as his bestfriend damn even as his lover! I will do it again! "

Milim: " dumbass! who will save him once you're dead, if something bigger and deadlier comes- can you trust anyone now to save him? no, you can't can you! SO why, why do you think dying to protect him would be a good idea! Live another day, survive to show him that you'll be there to protect him. It's not 'I'll die to protect you' It's 'I'll survive and protect you the same again tomorrow' "

You were stunned into silence, looking up at Rimuru who thought in anger against the creature you nearly died too... he was hurting, he nearly lost you and he wanted to kill this creature more than ever, you brought him pain because you were too weak...

You: " Milim Nava, tell me if I accept more of your blood, how long will the evolution take "

Milim:" 5 minutes why? "

You: " Allow me to evolve, I need to fight along side Rimuru and make sure we both survive to see the next day- not just in this battle but every single one after this, as you said ' I'll survive to protect him again tomorrow ' "

Milim smiled, she pulled your head back before cutting her palm and making you swallow more of her blood- the pain was excrutiating, Milim stood back expecting you to thrash around and scream, hoping Rimuru wouldn't hear but you were determined to make sure he didn't; the pain made your body feel like shutting down, it was worse than what you could imagine having all your internal organs stung by wasps as they moved around inside them felt like but you endured it- blood poured from your mouth as you endured it and sat still; the voice was going off in your head as it went through the evolution stage- soon after 5 minutes of hell on earth; it was complete and your stats were shown as your outer body morphed to match;

Voice: " Final evolution achieved before demon lord... "
