Chapter 28: A little too late

You faced off with Kalliel, a once hard enemy coming back as if the world has been thrown into a circle, you faced him as you accessed your library of skills to try and decide if there was a chance to get the Voice to create the most optimal skills to take him down whilst you stall him. You began the fight by rushing towards him but he seemed to expect it and the drum of the machine gun began to whirl and fire, heating up rather quickly but beginning to fire a quick burst of magic rounds- elements of all types flew past you but these ones weren't controlled by spirits and made you useless to try control them.

You faced Kalliel after successfully dodging his first round, the voice was still trying to think of a combination of skills to benefit you but since none could really be of too much use there wasn't much to grant. Kalliel grinned seeing you pushed back by his magic gun and began to prepare it again, you obviously knew it would heat up and only release a short burst so got into a low position allowing you to dodge more and use less energy which was when you were caught unprepared and the machine drum began to spin quicker and fire more rounds without overheating- it seemed to fire endlessly causing you to take a few hits and duck into a naturally formed trench for cover.

Your arm stung and you felt like crying, you hadn't felt such pain in so long so it was shocking to feel it come back- the burn on your arm healed but it was still slow since magic scars are apparently harder to deal with since magic directly hits the soul rather than the body especially pure magic types like you and Kalliel use, you needed an opening which was when the voice sprung into action.

Voice: " Permission to create skill, Combination of: Winds of Hermes, Speed boost, Light footed and Cannon body? "

you: " Permission granted "

Voice: " Permission recieved: New Extra Skill Created- Icarus' wax wings "

You immediately ran out the whole, activating the skill as large spectral wings appeared on your back like an angel and accompanied by a much smaller set above either side of the feet- the speed boost was immense and allowed you to easily move out of Kalliel's line of sight before he could shoot you; you hadn't checked your skills yet but you assumed Cannon body would allow it's primary effect to still be used and so you positioned yourself to take place and increase your speed even higher.

Kalliel watched as you burst towards him, the spectral wings shattering as you combusted and travelled towards him at immense speeds- you collided with his torso and dragged him deep into the forest with you, throwing him to the ground 20 feet away when you slowed from the deacceleration. You faced eachother, Kalliel's body was on fire but even as the flames melted off the skin and exposed bone; he remained standing.

Kalliel: " See Bud, I ain't gon' go down as easy as last time! "

You clicked your tongue in annoyance, not dignifying him with a response as you jumped back and prepared to attack him again but got a notification that using Icarus' wax wings in an enclosed space like the forest would destroy it and possibly be ineffective due to obsticles. You had to decide better, summoning forth the Nava Sword dance skill as Kalliel pulled out a large shotgun style weapon that seemed more cannon like than anything
