The weekend had come and gone, but Annabeth had wished it hadn't. She wanted more time off of school. The peppy, pixie-like Cullen had been on her tail for days. She was barely able to escape her each time the girl had tried to corner her. Honestly, it was getting old a lot faster than most things Anna had dealt with.
Anna had gotten dressed after her shower, but she wasn't happy about it. The run had let her clear her head a bit, but not enough to want to go to school. She honestly just wanted to climb back into bed and never leave it. That wasn't an option, obviously, but she had really wished it was. At least she was happy with the way she looked, if you look good you feel good, she told herself, as she glanced over her outfit in the mirror.
Anna was almost late getting to school, since she had decided to stop and get a coffee before going to school. She almost didn't care that she was almost late, but she knew she didn't need to start that as a trend for herself. She needed to finish school, so she'd never have to see the stupid building again.
She ignored almost everyone, as she practically rushed straight to class. She stayed quiet when Crystal and Alex asked why she was late, since she knew they wouldn't understand her distaste for the short Cullen girl. It was something that Anna just had to keep to herself — for now.
Bella seemed to be getting a little closer to the Cullens, which made Anna wonder why the pixie-like girl was still so obsessed with her. She didn't want anything to do with them, yet Alice was practically attracted to her like a magnet to metal. Anna and Emmett rarely talked, but he understood that she wanted some space from his family because of Alice's persistence.
The entire school day seemed to pass by slower than it should've. Anna was practically scratching at the walls to get out, as she waited for the final bell to ring for everyone to leave. The moment the bell rang, Anna seemed to run out of the school like there was a fire chasing her. She didn't care what it looked like, she just wanted out of there and away from Alice.
She stood by her car, waiting for Alex and Crystal. They had decided to just ride with Anna to Port Angeles to pick out their prom stuff, instead of going a couple of days ago, since Alex's mom had a medical emergency when they had originally scheduled to go. When the two had just got to Anna's car, Anna heard screeching tires, before she seen a vehicle almost crush Bella.
Anna knew what she had seen, or rather, she believed she knew what she had seen. Edward had been with his family, across the parking lot, but now he was by Bella's side. He had saved Bella from being crushed, and somehow he pushed the van away, leaving a dent in the side of it. Anna was shocked, and she didn't know what to do, but she knew she had to check on her sister.
"You two go without me," Anna told her friends,"You've postponed enough, and I've gotta be there for Bella."
"You sure?" Crystal asked, and Anna nodded.
Alex and Crystal headed to their own vehicles, as Anna jogged over to her sister. She was worried, but from what she had seen, Bella really didn't get any damage. Somehow Edward had saved Bella, and Anna was very confused and a little freaked out about it. She wanted to bombard Edward with questions — demand answers — but she couldn't ask him anything, she had to help Bella.
Anna drove behind the ambulance to the hospital, and their father met them at the hospital. Anna stayed silent, as she stood in the room with Bella and Charlie. Tyler Crowley — the boy eith the van — had tried countless times to apologize, but Charlie wasn't having it. He was going to get the boy's license taken away, and Anna believed it was unfair. Tyler didn't mean to swerve, so he shouldn't lose his license just because Bella was the chief's daughter.
When Bella's doctor, Dr. Cullen, entered the room, Anna almost gasped. He was just as pale as his children, and he was very handsome. Still, she stayed silent, as she watched Dr. Cullen check on Bella. She wanted to corner the doctor and demand answers on his children, especially Edward, but she knew she couldn't. She needed to put the questions to the back of her mind for now, because she had more important things to focus on.
"I'll meet you guys at home," Anna commented,"I'm going to pick up some food for dinner. Everyone's had a little too much fun today to cook."
"Be careful," Charlie replied,"We don't need another accident."
Anna simply smiled at her father, before she headed out of the hospital to go pick up some dinner. Before she could open her car door, a hand came down and held her door closed. She quickly turned around and came face to face with Alice and Jasper. Jasper looked as though he had wished he could be anywhere else, but Alice held a serious look on her normally smiley face.
"You've been avoiding me." Alice stated, and Anna raised an eyebrow.
"Really? What was your first clue?" Anna retorted, making Alice frown.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" Alice asked,"I don't get it. I was nice to you, and I-I don't understand why you don't want to be friends. I mean, I know I come off strong, but I just wanted you to like me."
"I'm sorry," Anna murmured,"but you're meant to be Bella's friends. I'm not going to get in the middle of that."
"Anna--"
"I've got to pick up dinner," Anna interjected,"I'll see you around."
Alice and Jasper simply took a step back and allowed Anna to leave. There wasn't much else they could do at the moment, considering there were too many people to see them. Soon Anna would know the truth about them though, and Alice was hopeful that it would change Anna's feelings towards them...
