Annabeth could tell that she was getting better. Her headaches from her dreams were becoming less painful, and they lasted a lot less time. She didn't feel like she was dying when she got a headache, and that was something she didn't think would happen anytime soon. It had been a week since she seen James, and three days since her most recent dream of him.
Anna missed James, and she planned to show him the tattoo the moment she seen him in person again. He was someone that she really felt close to, so close that she wished he would never leave. She didn't understand why she was feeling this way, considering she had never felt this way about anyone before, especially so fast, but he was different.
Anyhow, it was Friday, but there wasn't any school. It was staff development day, which she thought was dumb, considering the staff really didn't develop much after any of their development days. She wouldn't argue with anyone about it though, since it gave her a free day to hang out at home and read or do something else she really liked to do.
Anna had gotten ready to go to the bookstore, since she heard three of the books she had been searching for were finally in stock; Slash: The Autobiography of Slash, The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rockstar, and Angry Blonde. The first book was written by Slash and about Slash, the lead guitarist of Guns n Roses and Velvet Revolver, the second book was written by Nikki Sixx the bass player of Mötley Crüe, about his life and his addiction, and the third book was written by Eminem about his life.
Anna headed straight to Port Angeles, where the only bookstore nearby was carrying the books. She had called ahead of time, just to make sure that they had all three. She had even asked them to get them ready for her, because she was coming straight there to pick them up. The bookstore owner agreed, and had told her that he'd have them wrapped up and ready for her when she got there.
Long story short, she didn't waste any time getting to the bookstore, because she didn't want to lose her chance to get them. Once she had the books in her possession, she was extremely happy. She carefully placed them in the backseat of her car, before stopping at a gas station to pick up a drink and some chicken strips. Gas station food wasn't always the best for someone to eat, but they always had the best chicken strip.
"Annabeth." She heard, causing her to turn around.
She had parked on the side of the gas station, and nobody could really see her from where she was. When she turned around, she seen a redhead woman with a devilish smirk on her face. The woman stepped forward, coming closer towards Anna, and Anna felt nervous.
"I don't understand," The woman murmured,"You're human. What good are you to us, besides food?" The woman hummed,"Is it your blood? Is it infatuation? Is it mere curiosity?" Her cold hand barely grazed over Anna's cheek.
"Who are you? What the hell are you talking about?" Anna questioned, crossing her arms.
"You'll learn in due time," The woman replied,"but for now, I had to simply get a look at you, catch a whif of your scent, see what all the talk is about," The woman grinned, as though she had won a prize,"I will see you again soon, little human, but until that time, you should our meeting a secret. You wouldn't want to upset anyone, now, run along."
Anna felt creeped out and a little frightened by the redhead, but she did as she said, and quickly left the area. Instead of making anymore stops, in fear she'd run into the redhead again, she went straight home. She got out of her car, grabbed her books and her bag from the gas station, and went straight up to her room. When she entered her room, she gasped seeing James standing near her window, looking at the pictures she had on her bedside table.
"You're back--" He began, but cut himself off when he smelled her,"Are you hurt?"
"No? Why would I be?" She questioned, as she set her things down.
"A redhead, did you meet a redhead?" He asked,"Did she approach you? Did she try to hurt you?"
"Yes, I did, but she didn't hurt me. She told me not to tell anyone that we met." She replied, causing James to scoff.
"Of course she did," He grumbled,"I told her to stay away from you."
"I'm okay," She said,"Don't worry. Nothing happened."
Anna slowly stepped forward, and placed her hand on James's arm. At the feeling of her warm touch to his ice cold skin, his body seemed to calm immediately. She was the only one to have ever calmed him down instantly, and so easily. No one had ever calmed him before as much as she had with only a touch of her hand.
"I wanna show you something," Anna commented, grabbing his attention,"I got this for you." She pulled up the sleeve of her jacket, and showed him the tattoo on her arm.
"You got a tattoo?" He rhetorically asked,"You do know those are permanent, even as a vampire, it will never go away?"
"I know they're permanent, James," She murmured,"but I wanted it. I wanted to always have a piece of you."
"You are amazing, my beautiful Anna." He cooed, as he wrapped his arms around her.
Anna felt calm and happy in his embrace. He made her feel like nothing in the world mattered except for him and her. Nobody else in the world mattered, except for the two people in that room. She didn't know why, but every second she was with him, even if merely in a dream, she was falling helpless in love with him...
