Annabeth and James arrived in Forks around the time the sun had completely set. Anna lead James to her room through the front door, and grabbed a small bag from her closet. She packed her favorite band shirts inside, which was four different ones, two Mötley Crüe, one Guns n Roses, and one Sixx AM. She grabbed her two favorite pairs of pants, and her Chucks.
"Do you want to bring your books?" James asked, as he examined the books on her bedside table.
"Only those four," She replied,"the rest can stay behind."
James grabbed the four books she had motioned to, and placed them in her bag. Most of the time, James was known for traveling with the clothes on his back, and taking clothes from the humans he killed, but he was going to do different for Anna.
"James," Anna grabbed his attention,"maybe I should just hide this bag in my closet. We could always come back for my stuff when I want it."
"Why?" He asked, looking at her with furrowed eyebrows.
"I was thinking we could travel like you were before," She replied,"at least, until we find some reason not to. Charlie will always own this house, so even if I don't come back for a long time, my stuff will still be here."
"If that is what you want," He answered,"I will do whatever you want, if that's what makes you happy."
Anna buried the bag deep in her closet, covering it with so many of her other things. Burying it was mostly because she didn't want Bella using these certain things, or worse — selling it, these things meant the most to her.
"Where are we going first?" Anna asked, as she grabbed a notebook from her bedside table.
"Wherever the world takes us," He replied,"but first, I have one last thing to handle before we leave."
"Let me finish this, then we can handle whatever is bothering you." Anna said, noticing that James was acting different while standing near the doorway of her room.
Anna was going to write a quick note to Bella, and one to Crystal. She was going to make the one to Crystal different from Bella's though. She couldn't let Crystal know the truth, no matter how much it hurt her and her best friend in the end.
'Bella,
I really can't explain everything to you, it's complicated. I hope you understand why I did what I did in the end. While I am gone, please don't let anyone or anything hurt my car, even while I'm gone, it's still my baby. Take care of yourself, and please don't leave Dad on his own.'
Anna quickly placed the note under Bella's pillow, knowing she would find it eventually. She then wrote the next note to her best friend.
'Crystal,
I knew there was always a chance of this happening. You and I didn't want to believe there was ever a chance it could happen, but if you're reading this, it happened. I'm sorry that you didn't get a call that I had went into the emergency room, but Dr Cullen was sure he'd be able to fix it through surgery if anything happened, but if you have this letter, the surgery didn't work.
I had asked my dad not to have an open casket, because an open casket makes people cry more. Dad agreed to cremation, so maybe you'll always have a little piece of me with you to carry around. I love you, Crystal. You will always be my best friend, and I'm sorry that this was our goodbye. I wish we would've had more time together.'
"Do you mind us stopping somewhere real quick?" Anna asked, and James nodded.
Anna lightly knocked on the front door of Crystal's house, and laid the note on the rug by the door. She and James disappeared from view, and Anna watched as Crystal opened the door, looked around, seen the note, and picked it up. She watched as Crystal read the note, before she broke down in tears and her mother barely got to her before she crumbled to the ground as a sobbing mess.
"At least she won't question where you are." James commented, trying to seem as supportive as possible, though he really didn't care for the human emotional connection.
"I'll be right back," Anna murmured, "wait here."
James didn't have a chance to argue, before Anna was out of his sight. She didn't tell him, but she was going to the Cullen home. She placed a note on their doorstep as well, and she knew they would find it when they caught her scent. The note read;
'I know I shouldn't ask, after everything that happened in Phoenix, but please, if my family assumes I have passed away, say I asked to be cremated. Give them something to excuse the lack of a body. I hope you all understand why I did what I did.'
Anna then quickly went back to James, and he didn't bother asking her where she had ran off to. He was curious, but she was trying to handle being "dead" to so many people, and he had to give her a little time to come to terms with everything. He just hoped that she would get over it sooner than later, he really wasn't the best with emotions; except for a very select few.
"What is the thing you need to handle before we leave?" She asked, causing a frown to appear on his face.
"You will see shortly." He replied, being very vague.
She wanted to ask questions, but she felt like he was not in a good mood to be asked too many questions...
