Saturday morning, Annabeth wanted to go out with Crystal for the day. They had invited Alex, but he had been very vague as to why he couldn't go out with them. They decided not to ask too many questions, but they were very curious about the reason he was so vague.
Anna had just gotten up from her bed to get ready for a run, when Bella knocked on her bedroom door. She was a little bit annoyed, but she was trying to be a little more caring towards Bella, since she wasn't when they lived with their mom. In her defense, their mom was very gentle and caring towards Bella, since she was the youngest, but she didn't exactly mistreat Anna, she just was more absent than she was for Bella.
"Yes?" Anna asked, as she opened the bedroom door.
"Edward stopped by, and he said that you and I are invited over to the Cullens to meet them, and--"
"I'm not going over to the Cullens, Bells." Anna said, but Bella was relentless.
"Alice said that you'd say that, so she said you didn't have a choice. Apparently she told Carlisle about your headache, and he said he'd check you out when you came over today. They're afraid there's more wrong than just a simple headache." Bella explained, making Anna frown.
"Fine, let me get ready." Anna replied, and Bella nodded.
Anna didn't want to meet them, but even still, she dressed up so she wouldn't look bad in front of them. She was worried about what Carlisle would find when looking into the headache. Honestly, she didn't know exactly why, but she felt like she had to hide the dream from them, because they would cause more issues than answers.
"We leave in an hour." Bella said, as she passed by Anna's bedroom.
Since Anna had an hour, she decided to take a thirty minute nap, then get up and do her hair and a little makeup. She laid down on her bed, letting her shoes dangle off the end, since she refused to have shoes on her bed. After a minute or two, she finally drifted off to sleep.
**dream**
Again, Anna woke up in the woods, except this time she was further away from home. She could see water nearby, and from what she could tell, it was the area where Charlie and Waylon use to fish, before he passed away. Charlie still went with Billy, but it was very rare.
As she stepped out further to finally walk across the dock near the boats, she heard footsteps. She turned around, and there was James. He walked closer, a permanent smirk on his beautiful, pale face.
"My beautiful Anna," He murmured,"I wasn't expecting to see you today. You must have fallen asleep."
"Why am I here? How can I talk to you? Are you even real?"
"Of course, I am real, darling," He replied,"and as for the place, well, this is where I have been for a few hours, and it seems as though when you fall asleep, you find me. I am not sure how you can talk to me, but I believe it is your gift."
"My gift?"
"Your gift," He echoed, taking a few steps closer, she could almost feel his presence,"So, in theory, if you were to turn into a vampire, like myself, you would be able to go into a dream-like state and come to people, talk to them freely, as though you were really there."
"But why you?"
"That, my darling, is something you will learn in time," He replied,"but don't you worry, when the time is right, I will come to you, and not through a dream."
"Are you going to hurt me?"
"I would never hurt you," He said,"and if anyone values their life, they will never lay a finger on you either."
"Why do I have a gift...if I'm not a vampire?"
"Some humans are able to connect to their gift before they become vampires," James replied,"and one day, you will see just how powerful your gift can be once you are one of us."
"I-I don't want to be a vampire."
"Oh, my beautiful Anna, when the time comes, you will want to be like me, I promise, and I will be there to give you what you desire most." He said, and she felt her heart skip a beat.
He took another step forward, his hand reaching out. Before it could even ghost over her arm, hoping for some form of contact, Anna was yanked from the dream-like state, disappearing from his sight.
**end of dream**
Anna could hear her alarm going off, and the sound was causing her head go pound. Waking up from the dream, like before, had caused a severe headache, only this time it wasn't as severe. She groaned, as she turned off her alarm clock, and headed to the bathroom to start fixing her hair.
When she finished with her hair, she put on a little makeup, then opened her medicine cabinet to try and find something that would soothe her headache, even if it was only a little bit. By the time she was finished, Bella knocked on her door and told her that Edward was there to pick them up. Anna did not want to ride with Edward, she wanted to be alone. Before leaving her room, she grabbed a pair of sunglasses and slipped them onto her face.
"Do you mind if I drive myself?" She questioned, the moment she stepped outside.
"Just follow behind me." Edward replied, frowning when he seen Anna wince as Bella closed the front door.
He tried to get into Anna's head, but to no avail. She was having a serious headache though, and he wanted to know what was really going on. He wondered if Carlisle would find out what's wrong, or if it was something that was going to be hidden from him as well. Anna was good at hiding things, but the severe pain she was feeling was not one of those things...
