Annabeth had told Charlie and Bella about her aneurysm during dinner that night, and both were upset and worried for Anna. Bella was mad though, that Anna had kept it all a secret; the headaches, the brain scans, the other tests. She had believed that Anna should've told her before Crystal, because she was her sister, and she couldn't see past that to realize that Anna was just trying to keep her family from worrying about her.
Because she had to go easy on stress, she also had to cut down on her running. This just meant that she was able to get more sleep, and she was able to have more time getting ready for school. When Anna made it to school, Crystal met her almost immediately and wrapped her arms around her for a hug.
During the first class of the day, Bella had accidentally opened her mouth to Jessica about Anna's test results. Jessica was the school gossip, and she was never good at keeping her mouth shut. With that being said, about halfway through the second class of the day, at least half of the students at the high school knew about Anna's test results. Even some of the teachers knew, and Anna only figured this out, since her second class teacher was being nicer to her, and was telling her to not stress too much over the work if it was too hard, she'd give her extra help with no questions asked.
Anna had gotten angry after that, but she didn't take it out on the teacher. She thanked the teacher, before she asked to be excused. She lied, saying she had a headache, and the teacher was quick to send her to the nurse with a note. The note had Anna's test results mentioned, meaning the nurse would know, and eventually so would the rest of the school staff, but at least she'd get to leave class if she needed to without any real fight.
Anna tried to not be so angry, as she left the school with a huff. She knew anger would just upset her blood flow, and she didn't need any of that to happen. Honestly, she just wished Bella would've kept her mouth shut, but it seemed that was too hard of a task for the younger girl to do. By tomorrow, the entire school would know, and Anna would be either given special treatment or avoided like the plague.
When Anna arrived at home, she went up to her room, grabbed a book, and headed out to the back yard to read. She had a nice lawn chair outside, where she would read when the weather wasn't too bad. The sun wasn't out completely, but it was peeking through the clouds, giving a little more light than most days, as well as making the weather a little nicer.
Anna opened her book; The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band. She loved Mötley Crüe more than any band she had ever listened to. Matter of fact, she had bought this book the day it was released, against her mother's wishes, since the woman believed the band was too explicit for Anna to be listening to and reading about. Anna loved them though, and she hoped that one day she'd be able to meet them and tell them just how much they meant to her.
As Anna was reading, she felt eyes on her. I didn't feel like going to work, so I quit. When I couldn't afford rent anymore, I moved in with two prostitutes who felt sorry for me. I lived in their closet-- Her pleasant time reading was cut off when she felt a presence near her. She quickly looked up and seen the blonde from her dreams. He was standing merely feet away from her, looking at her with the same smirk he wore both times she had seen him in her dreams.
"What are you doing here?" She questioned, "I-I really didn't think you were real." She added, feeling a little embarrassed.
"I told you I was real," He replied,"and I also told you that you'd meet me when the time was right."
"What does that mean?" She asked, "How is the time right?"
"I heard you yesterday, talking to that human boy. You said you had something wrong with your brain, an aneurysm if I do recall. You're sick, my darling, and I needed to see you." He said, and she felt her heart beat speed up slightly.
"Y-your eyes," She murmured,"why are they so red?"
"I'm not like the vampires you've encountered," He replied,"I am better. I'm stronger, because I drink from humans, instead of animals."
"Are you going to kill me?"
"No, like I've said before, you are to be protected," He answered,"until the day comes, that you become one of us."
"Why?" She asked,"Why would I want to become one of you?"
"Don't you feel it?" He raised an eyebrow, as he stepped closer,"Don't you feel the pull between us? Don't you feel the need to see me, be near me?"
Anna watched as the side of his face glistened slightly from the clouds letting the sun peek through for a moment. He was right though, something was making her want to be near him. Something was making her want to see him and hear him talk.
"What does it mean?"
"It means you're mine," He murmured, his voice almost sounding like a whisper,"and you'll always be."
Anna didn't know what to say. His words made her want to slap him, because she wasn't an object to be claimed, but at the same time, his words made her heart skip a beat. She felt butterflies in her stomach, that swarmed at the mere thought of being his.
"I have to leave," He said,"but I will see you again real soon, my pet."
In the blink of an eye, James was gone. Anna almost wondered if she had imagined him being there. The only reason she knew he had really been there, was the single red rose that was on top of her book. She hadn't even noticed that he had dropped it there until now...
