It was about a week later that Buck and Maddie were waiting at the airport, anxious to see Eddie and Christopher.

Eddie had wanted to come a couple of days earlier but his parents were fighting him on it. "It's not like we're moving out to LA." Eddie huffs out. "We're just going to visit Buck, try to distract us from you know who." He mutters.

His parents raise a questioning brow at him. "Who's Buck?" Helena asks.

"Mom, you know who Buck is." He sighs heavily before leaving with Christopher.

"Eddie wanted to drive out here?" Maddie asks her brother, jaw dropping.

Buck nods and stands up from the bench, starting to pace in anticipation of seeing his best friend again. "Yeah, I told him it probably wasn't a good idea, not with Chris this young." He chuckles.

Maddie smiles at that and goes to open her mouth until she hears a voice yell. "Buck!"

Stopping his pacing, Buck looks to his left and there's Christopher walking next to his dad with a bright smile on his face. "Hey buddy! I've missed you!" He exclaims, running the rest of the way to meet the two. The man leans down and picks up the boy giving him a tight hug.

"Missed you too." Christopher giggles and demands to be put down so he can say hi to Maddie.

Buck looks at Eddie and gives him a smile. "Hey Eds. How are you doing?" He asks him, but he already knows the answer because he's asked him everyday for the past week and the answer hasn't changed.

Eddie shrugs his shoulders and lets go of the handle on the massive rolling suitcase he had brought with them, rubbing his hand over his face. "I don't know. But hey, I'm here to get out of my head right? So I really don't want to talk or think about it right now."

Buck just nods and reaches forward grabbing the handle of the suitcase, swatting eddies hand away as the older man tries to take it away from him. "I can handle my own suitcase." He pouts. And god did Buck think that was adorable.

"I'll handle your suitcase Eddie, and it looks like Maddie is handling your kid. So you can just handle yourself, and the backpack you have on your back." Buck smiles widely and starts walking towards Maddie who was holding a giggling Christopher.

Eddie shakes his head with a smile and shoves his hands into the pockets of his sweats and follows.

The four went out to lunch at a dinner near the Buckleys apartment, Christopher nearly yelling that he was starving despite Eddie telling the other adults that he most definitely was not. Buck gave in and bought the boy chocolate chip pancakes, not even batting a lash when he only ate half of one and said he was full.

"I told you he was fine." Eddie laughs as they walk into the apartment. "But you wouldn't listen to me. You just had to give him what he wanted." He adds. "You're the reason he's going to be spoiled, Buck."

"Well I didn't realize I'd be the one eating the leftovers since you two apparently don't like chocolate chips in your pancakes. And I'm not going to make Christopher eat leftovers." Buck pauses, grimacing. "Yeah, I definitely will be the reason he's spoiled."

"He deserves to be spoiled." Maddie's voice rings out from the kitchen where she and Christopher were, putting the leftovers in the fridge.

Nodding in agreement, Buck sets Eddie's suitcase to the side and sits down on the sofa, gesturing to Eddie to do the same. "You and Chris are going to take my room." He explains.

"Then where are you going to sleep?" Eddies face twists in confusion. "Wait, are you going to stay with your boyfriend?"

Buck looks at him bewildered. "No Eddie, I don't even have a boyfriend anymore. I thought I told you that. But even if I did, I wouldn't stay at his place. I'm going to sleep out here on the air mattress." He shrugs.
