The next two years with Adelaide flew by. Today was her second birthday and the family of four were celebrating at the home since they had her party the previous weekend. The girl had insisted on elephants being incorporated into the theme of her party and her dads had taken that as a challenge.
"Okay, who wants cake?" Buck asks. Adelaide and Christopher both collectively yell 'me!' at the same time. The toddler couldn't say much but she knew enough to get what she wanted.
"Daddy!" Adelaide whines, holding her arms up for Eddie to pick her up, which the man obliged, picking up his daughter and setting her on his lap while they waited for his husband to bring out the cake.
Buck walks out, cake in hand while Christopher trails behind him with a purple giftbag. Setting the cake on the table, Buck lit the candles, and they all sang happy birthday as the girl blows out the candles. Eddie hugs his daughter tightly, kissing the top of her head. "Happy birthday princess, I love you." He whispers.
"Love you." Adelaide giggles, reaching for the cake.
After cake, Christopher gives his sister her present. With Buck's help she opens up the bag and pulls out a stuffed elephant, similar to the one Chris got her the day she was born but unfortunately it was lost in the move. It was a tragedy. Adelaide had grown an attachment to the stuffed animal, and they could not find a replacement until Buck did a deep dive on the internet. Sure, he paid an arm and a leg for the damn thing, but he'd do anything to make his kids happy.
"Ellie!" Adelaide screeches, making the adults and Christopher grimace, but none of them say anything as she jumps off of Eddie's lap and crashes into her brother with a hug. "Thanks." She mumbles.
"You're welcome, Addy. Happy birthday." Christopher smiles.
If anyone noticed Buck crying over their children, then they didn't say anything, and he was grateful for that.
Later that night Shannon called to tell Christopher goodnight and to tell Adelaide happy birthday. Addy loved her aunt Shannon, talking the womans ear off on the phone before Buck takes the phone, saving the woman from another ten minutes of rambling from a toddler. He bids Shannon a goodnight and they hang up.
The two men tuck the kids into their respective beds, knowing that Addy will more than likely make her way into their bed in the middle of night. It was very rare that it didn't happen, and that was on nights that she decides to have a sleepover with her brother.
"You know, I saw you crying earlier tonight when Chris gave her the elephant." Eddie comments as the two walk to their room.
Buck groans and flops down on the bed. "I can't help it. I just love them so much Eddie." He says, wrapping his arms around his husband when the man pretty much lays on top of him. "Makes me want another one."
Eddie hums softly and looks into Buck's eyes, giving him a smile. "Yeah? Are you saying you want to go through the adoption process then?"
Buck nods. "Yeah. But I've already done my research on it. We just need to get ahold of an adoption agency."
Eddie chuckles and presses kisses all over Buck's face. "Of course you have. But that's one of the reasons why I love you so fucking much." He murmurs, pressing his lips against his husbands for a quick kiss before pulling away.
"Hey." Buck whines, pulling him back for more.
"As much as I love you, we absolutely cannot do anything else tonight, and kissing turns into making out and making out turns into other things." Eddie laughs softly. "I'm giving it ten minutes until Adelaide walks through that door asking to sleep with us."
Buck huffs, almost childlike but just nods his head. His husband was right, he always was. "I give it thirty." He challenges.
Ten minutes later Adelaide slowly opens the door and makes her way to the bed. Buck picks her up and sets her between he and Eddie and presses a kiss to her forehead. "Goodnight princess."
"We love you." Eddie whispers.

Adelaide is three and a half and Chris is nine when Eddie and Buck get the call about a set of newborn twins needing a family. The two men of course jump at the opportunity and before they know it, they're bringing home a baby boy and a baby girl. Thankfully they still had most of the things they had when Adelaide was a baby, but with the help of their family they were able to get everything else they needed in a timely manner.
"Dad." Chris groans, following Eddie around the house. "Why can't I just go to my friend's house?"
"Because I said so. Aunt Maddie, Uncle Chim and Jee are coming over for dinner so please don't ask again." Eddie sighs heavily as he rocks the baby boy in his arms. "You can go to your friends tomorrow, I promise. I'll even let you spend the night even though it's a school night."
"Yes!" Chris shouts, running off to his room.
Buck walks out carrying their baby girl, raising an eyebrow at his husband. "Did I just hear you tell Chris he could spend the night somewhere on a school night?" Eddie nods. "Who are you and what did you do with my husband?" The younger man jokes.
"Honestly? I just wanted him to stop asking about it." Eddie laughs. "Where's Addy?"
"She's playing dress up in her room. She said when Jee gets here they're going to play princesses." Buck shrugs. "I didn't have the strength to fight with her to get ready for dinner."
There's a knock on the door and Eddie goes to answer, pulling the door open and smiling widely. "Hey guys, thanks for coming- Shannon? I didn't realize you were coming over for dinner too." He says, but he wasn't upset. He could never be upset to see Shannon.
"I invited her." Buck pops up next to Eddie. "I figured she could meet the twins at the same time Maddie and Chim."
Shannon gives Buck a look that says 'bullshit'. "No, I believe my favorite niece and my son invited me over for dinner to meet their new brother and sister."
Everybody chuckles at that, Jee runs into the house and straight to Addy's room. "The more the merrier." Maddie smiles and walks into the house, Chim trailing behind him. "Now let me see these babies. And why don't I know their names yet?" She raises an eyebrow.
"Maddie, meet Amelia Madeline Diaz." Buck says and hands the baby over to his sister who had tears in her eyes. The two men wanted to name her after Maddie since they had named Addy after Shannon, it only seemed fit that their daughters have the names of their aunts.
"Even I'm going to cry." Chim sniffles. "What about baby boy there? What's his name?"
Eddie smiles and goes to sit in the Livingroom where everyone else is sat and looks down at their son. "Chase Oliver Diaz. We chose the A names for the girls and C names for the boys."
"They're perfect names." Shannon smiles. "Now, let's get Adelaide and Chris out here so you six can take a family picture."
Buck goes and wrangles the other kids, Jee following suit, going to sit next to her mom to inspect the baby in her arms. When the family of six are all sat on the couch, in their respective places, each man had one of the twins in their arms, Chris on Eddie's side and Addy on Buck's side, they looked like the perfect family.
Eddie was beaming though; he knew he had the perfect family, and he couldn't wait to live the rest of his life with his husband and their kids.
