It was Buck's turn to hover during Eddie's recovery and the older man hated it. He hated that this was how Buck felt when he hovered, but he didn't complain. He knew it made his husband happy to hover and take care of him, so he let him.

The conversation with Shannon went as expected, she was all for starting the surrogacy process as soon as possible. She was more than willing to help the two men expand their family. She sat with Buck for a few hours and did research about the process, wanting to know what to expect. Eddie happily let them, too tired from recovering to want to be involved in the research process.

Eddie was now fully recovered, and it was after Christopher's sixth birthday.

The two men were sat with Shannon in the Livingroom, listening intently to Christopher go on about some cartoon he had watched earlier that day.

"God, I love that kid." Buck chuckles, leaning into Eddie's side.

Shannon smiles at the two before looking over at her son. "Yeah, he's pretty great." She hummed softly.

The adults let Christopher stay up a bit longer before putting him to bed, all three of them tucking him in together and walking back out to the living room, taking their respective seats. This was the new normal now, Shannon would spend a lot of her time at the Diaz household as she was trying to get pregnant. She felt it was better to not spend all of her nights alone with her thoughts.

"You're quiet tonight, Shan." Eddie says, picking his beer up from the coffee table and finishing it off. "Is everything okay?"

Shannon looked over at the two men and gave them a smile. "Yeah, just tired. Morning sickness has been kicking my ass the last couple of days." And she waits, because that's how she was telling them she was pregnant, that the two husbands were going to finally get their baby.

Buck and Eddie's eyes go wide, neither of them was expecting that at all. "What?" Buck was speechless, as was Eddie. Neither of them could comprehend what Shannon had said. "Morning sickness?"

Rolling her eyes Shannon laughs. "Yes Buck, morning sickness. It's what happens during pregnancy."

"You've been here almost all day, and you decide now was the perfect time to tell us? I should've known something was up when you disappeared multiple times throughout the day." Eddie shakes his head, but he wasn't angry. He was ecstatic. They had been waiting for this for months.

"How far along?" Buck finally asks.

"About eight weeks." She says, preparing herself as she watched both men stand up from the couch and make their way towards her. They pull her up to her feet and embrace her in a hug, thanking her. "Don't thank me until it's all over. You both know there could still be some risks."

They both nod, because yes, they do know. Buck spent hours upon hours of researching anything that had to do with pregnancy. It was his hyper fixation for a while. "Yeah, we know that. But this is amazing." Eddie whispers. "You're amazing Shannon. You're helping Buck and I expand our family. I don't know how to thank you for that."

"No need to thank me. I'd do anything for Christopher to not be an only child." She laughs softly. "Okay let me go please, you're crowding the baby."

Buck laughs and shakes his head. "And there she goes, using the baby as an excuse already." He gives her one last squeeze before pulling away and embracing his husband, hugging him tightly.

Shannon was officially fourteen weeks pregnant when Eddie and Buck decide to tell everyone the news, with her permission of course. She let them do it on their own though. While it was her who was pregnant, it was their news to share, this was Buck and Eddie's child. Everyone was happy for the two of them, ready to celebrate the life of a new family member.

The hormones were making her crazy though, she caught herself crying because Buck told her he loved Christopher like his own and that he always would. She absolutely lost it, making the man in front of her concerned before he figured out it was just the pregnancy, that she was okay.

She was twenty weeks when they find out the gender. They took the envelope from the doctors to a bakery and had a cake specially made with the color of the gender on the inside. Nobody knew the gender yet.

Shannon watched as Buck immediately burst into tears when he sees the pink in the inside of the cake. He had been hoping for a little girl, and it was happening. He couldn't wait to go shopping for their daughter.

"Does this mean I'm getting a sister?" Christopher cocks his head, eyebrows furrowed with confusion. "Because I wanted a baby brother." He pouts, making Eddie chuckle.

"Yes, this means you're getting a baby sister." Eddie smiles.

Christopher nods his head slowly and looks over at a crying Buck and Shannon. "Dad, why are mom and Buck crying."

"Buck is just really happy and your baby sister makes it hard for your mom to control her emotions." Eddie explains to the six-year-old.

Shannon laughs wetly and wipes her eyes quickly, looking over and glaring at Buck. "It's all Buck's fault. When I was pregnant with Chris, I wasn't nearly this bad with the hormones." She says. "But no, Buck wanted this one to have his DNA." She mutters.

Buck just rolls his eyes, not taking anything, she says to heart, knowing she doesn't mean it.

Maddie and the rest of the 118 extended family finds out the gender a few days later, Maddie nearly throwing boxes of clothes that Jee had grew out of already, some of them she hadn't even gotten a chance to wear.

"We should talk about names." Eddie says one night, while they're in bed. Buck sat up, book in hand, concentrating on the words he was reading. "I know you already have a few in mind, you can't tell me you don't."

Buck shuts his book and reaches over to his bedside table for another book, a book full of baby names that he had been casually looking over since they found out they were going to have a daughter. "I've found a couple names that I like, but we both have to like the name. It can't just be you agreeing with me just because I like it." He gives his husband a pointed look. He opens the book and reads the names that he had highlighted. "Now, the ones I really liked were Delaney, Adelaide, Emelia and Laila."

Eddie hums softly and takes the book from Buck, skimming a few of the names. "I only have one request. I kind of want her middle name to be Shannon." He wasn't sure how Buck would react to that; he didn't want his husband to absolutely hate the idea. He just thought it would be fitting since Shannon is the one giving her life. "If you dont-"

Buck cuts him off, pressing a kiss to his lips. "I love that idea." He says. "Emilia Shannon Diaz. Yeah, I don't like that one. What about Delaney Shannon Diaz?"

"Adelaide Shannon Diaz?" Eddie suggests and shrugs his shoulders. "We don't have to choose now baby. But we have her middle name, that's a good start." He says and lays back, pulling Buck with him. "Now let's go to bed. I love you."

"I love you too." Buck smiles and presses a kiss to Eddie's chest before slowly falling asleep, dreaming of what their daughter would look like.
