It was a random Wednesday morning and Buck was getting ready to leave the firehouse when he heard Hen call his name, walking towards him, a grin on her face. "So did you ask Maddie if she'd ever go out with Chim?" She asks.

Nodding his head, Buck knelt down to finish tying his shoelace, standing back up before talking. "I did, but she said she'd only go out with him if we could go on a double date. She wants me to find a date." He groans.

"I'm sure you could find someone willing to go out with you for a night. You get tons of girls that flirt with you on calls." Hen teases and walks next to Buck as they walk out of the firehouse together.

And Buck was sure he could find someone, but he wanted to ask Tommy but he wasn't confident the man would say yes. Was he even into guys? Into Buck even? The two had texted on and off the last week or so but Buck couldn't gauge the man. "Actually." Buck hesitated and stopped by the front of Maddie's car that he drove to work the previous day. "You know Tommy. Is he- is he into guys?" He asks, his cheeks flushing pink.

"Tommy?" Hen asks, raising an eyebrow at the younger man. "Yeah, he's had a few boyfriends before. Didn't think he'd be your type."

"Yeah, well we've been texting every now and then since the night at the bar. He made sure I got home safe. But he's hot and I dunno, I was gonna ask him about the double date with my sister and Chim. Or is that a bad idea?" He asks, not really sure what the answer was going to be.

Hen smiles and places a hand on Bucks shoulder. "I think you should go for it. I'm pretty sure he'd say yes. A little birdie told me he's asked about you once or twice." She shrugs and walks away.

Buck just gapes at the woman walking towards her car. Why didn't she lead with that when he first asked about the other man. His mind was made up though, he was going to ask Tommy out.

When Buck arrived back home, he walked into the apartment seeing Maddie sitting on the sofa with a cup of coffee in hand. "Morning." She smiles at him as he kicks his shoes off.

"Morning. So, you said you'd say yes to Chimney if I found a date right?" Buck asks and plops down next to his sister. Maddie nods slowly. "I think I'm going to ask Tommy out."

Maddie grins widely and sets her mug down on the coffee table. "About time. You've barely stopped talking about how hot he is since you met him." She laughs.

Buck rolls his eyes and pokes her shoulder with his pointer finger. "And you've barely stopped talking about how cute Chimney is since you met him." And Maddie glares at him playfully.

"What are you waiting for? Text him! Ask him if he wants to go out tonight. I'll text Chimney." She says enthusiastically, watching as her brother pulled his phone out and started texting Tommy.

Buck: Hey Tommy

Buck: I uh, I know it's kind of last minute

Buck: But, would you maybe want to go out with me tonight? It's a double date with Chimney and my sister

Buck: I understand if you don't want to, figured I'd ask

"Alright, I texted him, now I just wait for a reply." Buck says and minutes later his phone buzzes in his hand.

Tommy: aw man, I wanted to be the one to ask you out.

Tommy: But yes. I'd love to go out with you tonight.

Tommy: Just send me the details

Buck: Great, I'll send you the details soon :)

"We've got dates tonight." Buck smiles widely as he shows his sister his phone. "I know Chim said something about just cooking dinner and possibly going out for a movie, but I'll ask him to be sure." Maddie nods in agreement.

The plans were made and the four were going out to a karaoke bar, Chimney claimed they had great food. Buck swore up and down that he wouldn't be participating in karaoke though, no way in hell.

"So Buck, where's your date?" Chimney asks as he, Buck and Maddie walk into the building and find a table big enough for four.

"He said he'd meet us here." Buck shrugs, chimneys eyebrows furrowing at the pronouns. "Before you ask, yes, I'm into guys. I'm bisexual." He laughs softly. A waitress came around and the three ordered drinks, Buck ordering an extra beer for his date when he heard Chimney.

"Wait, Tommy's walking over here. Tommy's your date?" He put two and two together, Buck was proud of him.

Standing up from his seat, Buck gave Tommy a quick hug as he gestured for the man to sit down, doing the same. "You look nice." Tommy smiles.

And before Tommy could introduce himself to Maddie Buck couldn't help but blurt out "you look hot." His face turned beet red when he figured out what he had said. But he wasn't wrong, Tommy was wearing a black button up short sleeve that was a bit too tight (Buck wasn't complaining) and a pair of blue jeans that Buck was sure made his ass look good. "I'm sorry." He mutters, suddenly finding the table interesting.

Tommy laughed. "You're honest, it's okay." He looks across the table at the woman who resembled Buck. "I'm Tommy." He held out his hand for her to shake.

"Maddie." She smiles, looking over at her brother and mouthing 'he is hot.'

The date was going well, really well. Chimney and Maddie got up and did karaoke after dinner, singing islands in the stream while Buck and Tommy talked about work, drinking their beer. "They're cute." Tommy commented, pointing at the couple singing on stage.

"Yeah I guess they are." Buck laughs softly. "She didn't want to come on this date unless it was a double date. Said she didn't want to embarrass herself, instead I embarrassed myself."

Tommy hummed softly and looked over at Buck. "I think it was a great date. I don't know about you, but I'd love to go out again sometime." And Buck grins, nodding in response.

"I'd like that. Maybe not a double date next time though." He chuckles.

"Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I love Chimney, he's a great friend and your sister seems like a lovely woman, but I'd like to get to know you one on one." Tommy spoke. "Maybe you can come over to mine this weekend and I'll make you dinner? Watch a movie?"

Buck wasn't entirely sure about being alone with a man he barely knew, he didn't want to turn him down so he agreed. "Yeah, sounds great."

Later that night, before Maddie and Buck walked from chimneys car to the apartment building he knocked on the man's window gently. "What's up Buck?" The man asks as he rolls his window down.

"You seem to know Tommy pretty well. He's a good guy right? Like I'm not going to get murdered or anything if I'm alone with him?" And Buck knew he was being irrational thinking the way he was. His past trauma just kind of fucked him up.

"He's a great guy, Buck. He's not a serial killer. You'll be okay." Chimney smiles at him and waves as he drives off.

He follows Maddie into the building and into their apartment as his phone dings a few times.

Tommy: I had a great time.

Tommy: i regret not kissing you though

Shannon: Christopher misses you. Figured you were busy when you didn't answer earlier

Shannon: call tomorrow though

Buck frowns. He felt bad he had missed the call from Shannon, he'd missed Christopher too. He texts Tommy back quickly.

Buck: You could always kiss me when you see me again

"I had fun tonight. And you were right, Tommy's smoking." Maddie laughs as they kick off their shoes, the texts from Shannon forgotten.

"I know he is. I'm seeing him again this weekend." Buck shrugs.

"So does this mean you're over Eddie?" The woman asks her brother as they walk into the kitchen, Maddie pouring them both a glass of wine.

Bucks takes in a deep breath and lets it out heavily. "I don't think it's that easy, but I have to try. Eddie is never going to reciprocate the feelings. And that's okay I guess. I like Tommy though."

"Okay, if you're sure." Maddie takes a sip from her glass. "But if he hurts you, I'll beat his ass." And the two laugh. They spend the rest of the night, drinking their wine and watching bad reality tv until they go to bed.
