The next few months go by quickly, Buck's leg healing relatively quickly, his mood improving day by day. Buck still had bad days here and there, but he got through them with the help of Eddie, Christopher, maddie, Shannon and the 118.
Buck was back at the academy, breaking records so he could get back to work, despite Eddie's worries. Eddie on the other hand had finally started at the 118, getting along with everyone. He was also anticipating Buck coming back even though he was worried about the man, he'd be able to keep an eye on him, have his back.
Buck and Eddie's relationship had been great, improving as the days went on. Buck didn't think he could love his boyfriend anymore than he did, but he was wrong. He fell more in love with the man every day. Eddie made it a point to take Buck out on a date whenever Shannon had Christopher, if they had time due to his shifts at the firehouse.
Buck was currently in the kitchen, cleaning up his mess from dinner, just having put Christopher to bed and waiting for Eddie to arrive home when his phone started ringing. It was Chimney. Furrowing his eyebrows. Buck pressed the answer button and put the phone on speaker, so he could continue cleaning.
"Go for Buck." He says, confused because Chimney barely ever calls him. Wasn't he just on shift with Eddie? He could've passed along a message through him.
"Buck. I just got home and Maddie's gone." Chimney says, worry lacing the man's voice.
"What do you mean she's gone?" Buck questions, pausing his cleaning for now, the conversation being more important. "She's not at work?"
He heard shuffling on the other end of the line. "No, she was home today. I think-" he stops and groans. "I think something happened. I think someone might have taken her." Chimney reveals. "I called 9-1-1 already. There were some things broken, almost like she was fighting someone."
Buck froze, the blood draining from his face. It was Doug, it had to be. "O-okay. I'm waiting for Eddie to get home, which should be any minute and then I'm going to talk to Athena and we're going to find her." He reassures the man.
"Alright. I'll see you soon?" Chim responds.
"Yeah." Buck says and hangs up, placing his hands on the counter, keeping his body upright. He couldn't help but let the tears fall down his cheeks, not even bothering to wipe his face when he heard the front door open, signaling that Eddie was home.
"Babe, I'm home!" Eddie sing songs, toeing off his shoes by the front door, making his way to the kitchen. His smile fades to a frown when he sees the state Buck is in. "Buck what's wrong?"
Buck looks up and stands up straight, wiping his face free of tears, shrugging his shoulders. "Maddie's missing?" He wasn't sure if that was the problem yet, but he couldn't help but believe it. "Do you remember Doug?" He asks to which Eddie just nods, body tensing, waiting for more of an explanation. "Well I've told you the bullshit she used to go through with him. I think he finally got a bug up his ass after all these years and came looking for her. I think he took her." Buck chokes on a sob.
"Hey, it'll be okay." Eddie says softly, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend, pulling him into his chest. "That may not even be what happened."
"But it might have. It's possible." Buck mumbles into the older man's chest. "I'm going to go talk to Athena, see if she can help me find her. Might call around to hospitals to see if she's there too. I'm worried about her, her and the baby."
"I know, baby. You do what you need to do, I'll be here. If you need me you can call me." He says and kisses the top of his head, letting Buck go.
Buck just nods and hurried to get his shoes on, grabbing his wallet, phone and his car keys before hurrying out of the house and to his jeep, instantly calling Athena.
"Buck, Chimney already filled me in on what's happening. Meet me at the station and we can figure out what we're going to do." She says before hanging up, leaving Buck in silence, alone in his jeep.

Eddie sighs heavily and sits on the couch, not having a clue on what to do right now. Christopher was asleep for the night, so he couldn't distract his mind by cuddling his son. So he decided to grab his phone and dial Shannon's number, hoping she was available and that she could talk to him, to distract him. He knew Buck was probably spiraling and he couldn't help him.
"Hey Eddie." Shannon's voice rings through the phone. "Is everything okay?"
"No. Chris is fine though. Bucks fine. It's Maddie." Eddie spoke, running a hand through his hair. "I guess she's missing and Buck is stuck on the thought that Doug had something to do with it. And I'm home with Chris so I can't be with him right now, I'm sure he's going insane not knowing what's going on." He rambles, stopping to take a breath.
"Whoa, that's a lot. Fuck Eddie, I'm sorry. Do I need to come over? I'm actually not that far from the house. I can keep you company or I can just keep an eye on Christopher while you go handle things with Buck, just tell me what you need me to do."
"Come over? I'll call Buck to see if he wants my help. Thank you Shannon." Eddie says softly before hanging up and calling Buck, but the man doesn't answer.
Eddie just sits there, waiting for Shannon to arrive, hoping that everything is okay, that Maddie will be okay. He didn't think Buck would survive if anything happened to his sister.

A/N
Surprise! I wasn't going to put Doug in here at all but I was feeling particularly evil tonight. And I know none of this matches the timeline of the actual show but I don't care.
