Buck felt a body pressed up against him and instantly tensed, tears building in his eyes. "Get away from me." He cries, trying to push the other person away, but just kept being held tighter, the person burying their face in his neck. "Please." Buck pleads and pushes back once more but it didn't work. He was starting to panic at this point, not knowing where he was or who was holding him. Taking in a deep breath, he pulled his arm back and elbowed the person with all the force he could muster.
"What the hell?" He heard from behind him before the arms pulled away from him, Buck scrambling to stand from the bed before the other person could retaliate. "Buck? What's wrong? What happened?" Was that Eddie? Buck wanted to throw up. Eddie reached over and turned the light on, holding his side where Buck had elbowed him. "What's wrong?" He asks again, eyeing the younger man, concern written all over his face.
Tears start streaming down the man's face, a choked sob making its way out of Buck's throat. "I thought I was back there, I thought you were him." He cries, sitting down on the edge of the bed, flinching when Eddie put his hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I really didn't. I was having a dream and then woke up to someone touching me and It triggered me." He sniffles, putting his head in his hands.
Eddie hesitated before moving so he was sitting next to Buck. He wasn't entirely sure how to comfort the man, but he could try. "Hey no, it's okay. I'm fine Buck, okay?" He says and wraps his arm around Bucks shoulders, pulling him into his side. "And don't ever apologize for having a dream or being triggered by it. PTSD is real and you doing what you had to do yesterday, brought up some bad stuff. So please, don't apologize." He whispers.
Buck nods his head and rests it against Eddie's shoulder. He felt really bad for freaking out the way he did, but it wasn't his fault. He still couldn't help but feel bad and think Eddie would take back what he said last night. Buck knows it's irrational, but he couldn't help but feel that way. "You're not- you wouldn't take back what you said last night, right? You're not going to leave me?" He lets out a strangled sob as he spoke.
Shaking his head and pulling away so he could look Buck in the eyes, which probably wasn't a good idea as he had always got lost in those pretty blue eyes. They were one of his favorite features of Buck's. "Absolutely not." He speaks and grabs the younger man's hands, holding them in his own. "I'm not going to leave you and when I said I loved you, I meant it. If I have to constantly reassure you of that, then so be it. But I want you to understand that I love you, Buck."
"I'm an idiot." Buck mumbles and hides his face in Eddie's neck, he was finally starting to calm down, his heart rate going back to normal. "Just be patient with me, okay? Tommy was never patient with me. He tried to push me into things, and he just didn't understand."
That made Eddie's blood boil, he didn't know this Tommy character, but he knew enough from what Maddie and Buck told him. "Fuck Tommy, he's just an asshole." He mutters, and glances over at the clock noticing that it was five in the morning, and they would have to leave for the airport in about four hours. "Do you want to go back to sleep for a bit, or do you want to go to the diner down the street and have some breakfast?" He asks the younger man, hoping that he chose to go to breakfast because he was absolutely starving.
Buck hums softly and lifts his head up, looking into Eddie's brown eyes and gave him a small smile. "Just us?" He asks hopefully.
"I think if we woke Maddie and Shannon up this early, they'd probably kill us. Shannon loves her sleep; she'd have my head." Eddie laughs and stands up from the bed, not even bothering to change out of his sweatpants and t-shirt before slipping on his shoes. "So yes, just us. so, get your shoes on and let's go."
Buck nods and stands up, slipping his shoes on, not bothering to change out of his sweats either. The two head out of the room and out of the building, walking together towards the diner that had seen on their way in the day before. "May I?" Eddie asks, nudging Buck's hand with his own, wanting permission to be able to hold the other man's hand.
