The Time Me And Dooka met a Crazy capybara: book 5, part 7.

W/ Corniyah, Elona & Masoma

Setting: Back out in the destroyed, ransacked streets.

No One's POV/3rd Person:

"We're going to search for weapons and food again," Elona states, as she had strutted in front while corniyah and masoma on each side of her, nodding.. Eerily silent. "I wonder if we'll find somewhere safe... where it doesn't burn down. Again. And none of us get lost." Corniyah says, and none of them respond to that albeit them wanting to reassure each other greatly. It could happen again, and with how fate's treating them.. It doesn't seem like a far cry from what could happen. All of this had suddenly came crashing down on everyone's lives so suddenly... and it felt as if it weighed a thousand pounds. They couldn't get a break, and they know it. "Maybe, I don't know." Masoma says, barely above a whisper. And after that, everyone had stopped talking. They've already spent a good 15 minutes walking into their journey, and it was tough. Corniyah had wondered and started to have second thoughts about doing this, and started to lose hope that there were actually other people out there, good or bad. There was a car starting in the distance, and that piqued their interest. Everyone looked at eachother, wondering if they should check it out or not. "Screw it. Let's check it out."Masoma throws her hands up and walks towards the direction the sound of the car aggressively sputtering came from... "Ugh, What could it be?" Corniyah mumbles as she trails behind Masoma and Elona who were reluctantly walking.

Setting: In Front of a black pickup truck by an old shed.

"Woah?..." Elona spoke what everyone was thinking. "Guys... we have to check it out! There could be people in there! We can finally reach someone!" Masoma, constantly being the irrational one, ran up to the starting pick up truck. The three had stood there curiously, it had struggled to start... it was probably old or needed some repair... After some time, it had finally turned on. It turned on, and both the headlights and tail lights turned on simultaneously. Now, You'd think they'd be smart enough to move out of the way and not stand where they could possibly get hit, but unfortunately they didn't think it through. The pickup truck began to back up and reverse Masoma, Elona and Corniyah's direction. "Huh???" Cornyiah says, and Masoma yelps As the truck's tires abrasively screech against the asphalt road that clashed with the gravel, sharp rocks and other foreign objects steering towards them. The truck bolted towards the 3 girls, and they jumped out of the way, onto the rough, not so cushioning grass as they barely missed the tires of the pickup truck that could have maimed them in seconds, "I.. huff.. Can't believe that's our first interaction with someone, a human to be exact.. For who knows how long. Has everyone gone insane or something? They could have killed us!" Elona complains as she scowls, staring daggers into the truck that had swerved and screeched in a... lack of a better term, Unhinged manner. "Dang! They driving like it's some uh.. What's it called?" Corniyah says, furrowing her brow. "A police chase! They driving like it's a police chase, that was uncalled for." Corniyah adds in her two cents. The other two nod in agreement, equally as baffled and annoyed. "Well, I guess we were right about 'being careful if there's any other threats than capybaras.'" Masoma nods, Elona's anger flared. "Well that's just great." Elona starts off, "Every time we listen to you, masoma. We almost end up getting killed." Elona glares at Masoma who sulks. "Uh, Yeah.. we don't really have the best luck with your advice or whatever you want to call it, Masoma." Corniyah says sheepishly, trying to back Elona up without starting an argument at the same time. "I'm only trying to help," Masoma responds in a quick, sharp, defensive tone. "You can help by setting those ideas to the side, moving forward... alright? Leave the big plans that hold our lives to me and corniyah, Mkay?" Elona says in a slightly passive aggressive tone.. It was obvious masoma wanted to debate, But before she could get a word out, Elona stared at her as to say; This isn't up for discussion. Masoma nods and sighs, slumping a little. "This is useless!" Corniyah exclaims suddenly, which caught the others by surprise. "Why couldn't we have stayed in the treehouse? It was much easier, and we wouldn't be having like a billion near death experiences for crying out loud!" Corniyah says.. "Well, We...-" Elona didnt finish her sentence. Her eyes went dark, and her expression fell into a cold, apprehensive one that was also somehow extremely hard to read at the same time. "...Corniyah. Don't. Move." Elona says, and Masoma looks where Elona had settled her gaze and gasped. "Yeah, seriously. Dont." to their surprise, there was a capybara that was definitely the size of a grizzly bear looming over an oblivious and annoyed Corniyah, as she scoffs. "Ugh, You guys are insufferable. What could possibly be that bad to the point you guys tell me to 'don't move'?" Corniyah says, not putting up with any of their weird excuses or antics. "Hello? Well if it's so bad, don't just stand there.. Do something about it!" Corniyah seemed slightly worried but stood her ground as she tried to snap the other two out of it. "Seriously, I'm done with you tw-" Corniyah huffs and turns her head around, only to go wide-eyed. "....What is that? Is that a capybara?" Corniyah stutters. Masoma snorts. "Well Congratulations, Sherlock. You've found out the most- OW!" Masoma says intending to be sarcastic but receives a Pinch from an fuming But still horrified Elona. "Rude." masoma snarls, then became increasingly confused on how the capybara was standing there. "Guys... look at its eyes."
