The Time Me And Dooka met a Crazy capybara: book 5, part 14.
W/ Jace, Karis & Kennon. Left alone by Sgt. Rudo who's in search of mya and julian.
Setting: out in the grassy, dark and what seemed to be never ending acres of green.
No One's POV/3rd person:
"..." that's it. Everyone was just silent. Too shooken up with fear and shock to even utter a word. And everyone was okay with that. Everyone had stood around, while Karis.... She wasn't taking it that well. Jace clenches her fists, head hung low. She couldn't believe it. Two of their best friends, gone. Nowhere to be seen. Sgt. Rudo left, all on his own now, too. They knew that he was a military man who could easily fend for himself, but maybe there's a possibility that even the strongest of men couldn't even face the dangers of this disgusting place amplified by ten ever since this crisis. if that's the case.... Will there ever come a day where even her combat training can't save her? It was a cruel thought to think about. A thought that she'd never want to happen. Karis sniffles and wipes away her tears. "Do You seriously think they're gone?" Karis finally speaks up. That startles Jace. Soon enough, she quickly regained her composure as she furrowed her brow. "I-, No.... no." Jace swiftly averts her temporary gaze that had fixated on Karis as soon as those horrid words left her mouth. "That couldn't happen. They- they faced the capybara before, even before us. They have experience with those things, even if they aren't the best fighters in the group." Jace says, and Kennon nods in agreement as he sits down on a rock. "Yeah. They'll be alright, they're strong. And they've endured a lot. Even if anything does happen.... They had put up a fight. That's what matters most." Kennon smiles, Jace shakes her head firmly. "No. That's way off. There isn't no 'even if' or any of that. I really, really, REALLY believe that they can make it through. And that they'll survive." Jace snaps. "I really hope you're right... Jace..." Karis mumbles, more nervous than she's ever been. Jace sighs and thinks to herself; 'I know, I hope I Am too.' Soon enough, Karis nods. "Take my word for it." Jace had spoke, and everyone had nodded, their anxiety slowly lowering. Karis sighs. "I miss them already." Karis speaks up again, and Kennon agrees. "Me too. It's different, more quieter.. Without them here." Kennons head hung low. Jace knew that feeling all too well. "I do too. I Know. But trust me, we'll find them soon. Even if it takes us a thousand years." Jace had said. she had hoped they would find them, and soon. She really doesn't know if she could live without her friends she cares about most.... That was something she never thought she'd find herself thinking.

W/ Corniyah, Elona & Masoma.
Setting: In the basement of the old auto repair shop.
No One's POV/3rd Person:
"Wow... so, can you finally answer the question?" Corniyah asks. The man had raised a brow. "About what?" He had asked, Elona and the others share exasperated glances. Corniyah turns to The Man. "Your Name." Corniyah confirms, the Man sighs. "...Enzo." The Man had uttered the word. Elona Nods slowly. "Okay.... Enzo... Nice to meet you?...." Elona says. Enzo Glances at her, then back to the others. "You find your parents yet? Or at all?" Enzo queried, Masoma sighs and shakes her head. "No, No... Unfortunately. We Haven't." Masoma answered with a solemn and somber expression. "....Yeah, We're still trying to navigate through the city... so it's kinda obvious that we haven't." Elona replies with a snarky comment. Enzo huffs and turns away, not in the mood to deal with weird and sarcastic comments. "Do YOU have family, Enzo?" Corniyah asks curiously. Enzo Had paused. He knew His wife. His wife hadn't survived long in whatever this is.... And Jace... He had never cared much about her... well, for reasons.. He had still taught her self defense and the basics of boxing, but He never saw it as bonding time. I'm sure she didn't either. They had a strained relationship, ever since when she was little. And If he was ever nice enough, he'd give her a card whenever it was her birthday, and that would be about it. As previously noted, he hadn't bothered to ever spend much time with her, and she didn't seem interested with spending time with him back. So it wasn't like a one way thing or whatever... Enzo sighs. "Not that I know of, no. one might be alive... but I wouldn't ever want to reunite with her again." Enzo explains calmly. Corniyah curiously arches a brow at his words. "Wait- What? Why? Wouldn't you want to meet back up with your family member after all this?" Corniyah asks, And Enzo Only goes silent. "Cause..... Uh, I just don't... I just don't have a good reputation with them... is All." Enzo Says, And Masoma immediately had an awkward expression on her face. "Dang, Bro... I'm sorry." Elona sighs, Enzo peers over at her. "Don't be sorry. I don't need pity." Enzo says, and he remains silent for a good 5 minutes. He looks up at them. "Do any of you know any combat skills or atleast know self defense? Anything?" Enzo scans the 3 girls who looked sheepish as they shook their heads. He covers his face with one hand. "God.... Mkay. you're gonna need to learn, if you're gonna stay here long-term, you gotta pitch in and help defend the only place we can really take shelter at. And I'm sure you girls don't want to walk miles upon miles. That's unnecessary." Enzo says. "Is it gonna be hard?" Masoma randomly blurts out. Corniyah and Elona giggle. "Ugh.. Yes. ANYTHING is gonna be at least a little difficult the first time you attempt it. But that's simply not an excuse to opt out of it." Enzo sighs in nothing but pure annoyance and exhaustion. I'm really starting to regret my decisions here.... I already know they're gonna be a handful to deal with. Enzo Thought to himself.
