The Time Me And Dooka met a Crazy capybara: book 5, part 9.

W/ Corniyah, Elona, & Masoma.

Setting: Outside in the destroyed, ransacked streets.

No One's POV/3rd Person:

"It's Blind. It's freaking blind." Masoma stutters, The capybara's eyes had been a cloudy, milky white color. and Elona goes pale. The capybara snuffles, sniffing the air noisily. Then its aggressive sniffing came to a halt. Everyone stares glassy eyed, "I think it picked up on our scent." Elona breaks the silence and she had said what everyone didn't want to hear. Corniyah's Blood ran cold as she stumbled over her words. "W-Well what do we do? We can't certainly just stand here, and we having nothing to defend ourselves with." Masoma queries, speaking everyone's minds at this moment. Corniyah slowly blinks and exhales softly. "As long as we don't startle it, it may be harmless. But we should still be careful. Like I said; everything can be dangerous at some point."Elona started, and Corniyah carefully turns around. "Distract it, Maybe?" Masoma suggests and Elona ponders for a moment before answering. "There could be a possibility that we could do that," she had said, thinking hard. "But on the other hand, things can always not go according to plans, we don't need that to happen." Elona finishes. Everyone started to consider her words. "Screw it." Corniyah glances back at the blind capybara that had snorted, sniffing the ground, low. Which garnered confused looks from all of them. It crouched, then froze. Head held high and frozen, its cloudy eyes widening slightly as its nose twitched. "Shoot. It definitely smells us." Corniyah shudders. "....Yep, so we have to be careful." Elona nods slowly as she glances at the others. Masoma winces as she attempts to distract the capybara. It was either the dumbest or the smartest decision they ever made, depending on the outcome. Masoma hurls a twig forward, and the Capybara huffed audibly and lunged towards the direction the stick was thrown, and obliterated it in seconds, garnering a dumbfounded and shocked expression from all three of the girls. "Guess we found out something new today.." Elona stared, wide eyed. "Guess so." Corniyah sighs, and now they might be set to leave, now that they got the capybara off their shoulders.

W/ Jace, Sgt. Rudo, Karis, Kennon, Mya & Julian.

Setting: Out in the open, grassy, burnt fields.

Karis's POV/1st person:

Okay, how do I start? I guess... I'll just say that this specific few hours, minutes, whatever. It all feels the same, has been not the most pleasant. not for me, atleast. "I'm hungry." Kennon exclaims, and Jace stifles a Laugh. Julian continues talking to Mya who didn't seem so interested in whatever he was yammering about. "You being 'hungry' should be the least of our problems, Kennon." Mya says, voice laced with annoyance and aggravation. "But-" "No, Kennon... I swear to god." I watch as the two nearly start bickering. Weird. I think to myself, those two are the last people I would think that would argue with each other..I guess they proved me wrong. "Are you guys liking the trip so far?" Julian calls out to the group, grinning . I smile back, and he nods. "It's pretty much good... so far." I was the only one that had answered,, and it seems like that it's going to stay that way. Everyone else was preoccupied with staying ahead or simply talking to each other.. I'm still having mixed feelings about 'Jace', she seems sketchy and as if she's hiding something. Though I still don't hate her as much as I did back when Kennon sort of introduced her/bringing her to the army barrack. The army barrack, that reminds me. The amount of horrors we faced back in the army barrack despite our minimum time there, and how it showed and taught me that things are much, much better when you have your friends with you, right by your side. "Guys, I'm seriously hungry.." Kennon takes a peek inside one of the many duffle bags we had brought along with us. "Pst, Hey," Kennon whispers to Sgt. Rudo Who only cast a side eyed glance at him as he walked in perfect strides. "Any Food in there? Like um, a fruit, apple, grapes, cucumber, or even expired meat." Sgt. Rudo's expression slowly, gradually contorted into one of confusion, disgust and dumbfoundedness as Kennon's long string of preferred snacks and food he wants. Kennon caught on and his eyes widened in surprise and nervousness as he raised up his trembling hands in what seemed to be a fearful reassuring gesture. "Hey, Um- I'm not fussy, I-I'll take anything! Just give me something.. Whew, Cause I'm Starving." Kennon says, Sgt. Rudo exhales and shakes his head slowly, eyes clenched shut as his jaw tightens. It's a funny sight, seeing the boy we so call our 'leader' and a Middle aged soldier having a silly, one-way conversation about food. Sgt. Rudo mumbles something underneath his breath and then fishes out an apple out of one of the duffle bags and tosses it to Kennon. Thanks to Kennon's uncoordination, he barely even caught it, and he ended up dropping it in the end and so now he tumbled after the bright, red semi-ripe fruit as it rolled off. "Uh- GAH! C'mere.. Apple please!" After many moments of struggling and our fellow leader tripping and tumbling, he had bounded back with the fruit in one hand. "Took you long enough." Mya quips. it's hard to know what she's thinking right now. "Oh, Shut up.." Kennon grumbles in exhaustion as he wipes and dusts off the apple with his shirt quite a few times. After Kennon had got the apple clean to his satisfaction, he took a bite out of it. I share a quick glance with a giggling Julian who elbowed Mya slightly as she rolled her eyes. Jace snorts and Sgt. Rudo seemed flabbergasted with everything going on right now. Kennon tosses the bitten apple to Julian who eagerly takes, or attempts to... take a massive bite. It only ended up with him nearly choking and hurting his jaw. After Mya angrily whispers to take a smaller bite this time with the backup of jace, Julian reluctantly takes a smaller bite albeit looking very depressed. Though none of them fell for it, they knew too many of his manipulation and emotional cards to be that gullible. He hands the apple to mya who quickly bites it then passes it to Jace who immediately rejects it, and then she swiftly passes it to me, gaze averted. I eye the apple warily then toss it. The red hue it elicited grew further and further away the more distant it became.. No way I'm eating a half eaten apple, even in a world full of destruction and murderous capybara and being on the brink of death nearly everyday, I refuse to have the same germs as my best friends in my mouth. I manage to get a few chuckles from the others, though. 'I can't believe how I actually ended up being friends with them.' I hear Jace mumble and As much as I hate to admit it... I Actually understand her on this one.

To Be continued.
