The Incident: Book 6, Part 8.
W/ Jace and Kennon.
Setting: In the middle of a dark and a quiet, eerie forest.
Jace's Pov/1st Person:
We might have gotten far enough to consider this a 'successful' escape. Kennon already seems off and on edge about me, which I don't like. But I know even then, he has a right to. After all, I wouldn't want to be near a relative of someone who caused so much damn pain to others, either. I've been ignored and hated by a lot of people in the past(specifically by my family besides my grandfather...who's dead. obviously.),..but I don't know why it feels different with Kennon. We were never or intended to fall in love like this... with each other . I'll be honest. I despised kennon at first, so developing such feelings with someone like him was at the bottom of my list. I hear Kennon shuffle a little bit, which snaps me out of my downspiral of deep thoughts. I look over at him. With his back turned to me, he calmly watched the water flow freely throughout the thin creek. "....That water might be drinkable, actually." I say, hopping over a rock and walking over to kennon, as My eyes set on the creek, too. And it might have been. With how oddly-pristine it looked despite the horrible and probably threatening stuff like pollution going overdrive everywhere and any place. It was perfectly untouched, as far as I could see. I turned back to kennon, who still continued to ignore me. I sigh, sitting down next to him. "Look, I know this is a lot to take in, and I'm sorry but-" I start. Kennon abruptly cuts me off. "I don't want to hear from you right now." He snarled in annoynace. I feel a pang of disappointment, frustration and sadness. I knew this would be hard for both of us, but we'll just have to make the most of it.. For now.

W/ Oliver
Setting: In the faraway and hidden experimental laboratory, In a dark cell.
No One's POV/3rd Person:
Oliver watches as A person walks in slowly and cautiously, and He immediately stumbles back In defensiveness, he snorts as the person approaches him. He bared his long, sharp teeth defensively. They didn't seem to care. They must have worked here. His hackles raised as the person only got closer. His eyes darted around, searching for an escape. there it was.. The stupid idiotic worker had left the cell door open. He bolted out, whipping past the person as soon as he saw the potential escape. Obviously, the other workers noticed it. Alarms and sirens went off in the endless hallway, as he swerved and turned aggressively at each corner, determined to get out of here. His thick and wide paws heavily thudding against the ground. People chased right after him. They were quick, sure. But not quick enough to catch him. He saw an exit up ahead. Glass doors. He quickened the pace and completely crashed through the glass doors... glass flying everywhere. Out into the destroyed world he went... away from that hell he was in for a short relatively period of time.
. . .
A few hours later..
Oliver was out in the open, spotting a herd of capybaras up ahead, completely doing their thing, minding their own business. Even as a gigantic and vicious mutant-like beast, he still had that impulsive and playful demeanor of a normal house dog he used to be. Which led to him still having zero survival skills. He barks in excitement, prancing over the capybaras and carelessly nipping at the capybara's thick ankles. The capybara chittered in anger and head butted him across the field. He yelped in pain and whined. He didn't bother fighting back. Typical Oliver. His ears pinned back as he lowered himself to the ground and tried to be 'less intimidating', as he sniffed a baby capybara that was still almost half his size but relatively chill. He sniffs as his nose curiously travels all over the capybara. The capybara sneezed, right on his face. His eyes widened as he did that weird playfully-dog step back, then pounced over to the capybara again.. Then soon enough, the capybaras left. He whined and wagged his tail, tagging along at a safe distance... Suddenly, he saw something up ahead half an hour later that caught his eye, and the capybaras noticed it too. The herd + Oliver move towards it. It was a weird lookin' place they couldn't understand. But they saw fresh food in a garden nearby, and they dash towards it. The smell was overwhelming, and the capybaras and Oliver couldn't help but dig in. Oliver ravaged through the tomatoes, randomly taking chunks and bites out of every vegetable and fruit, whereas the capybaras calmly grazed on the food beside him. He looks up, his face now covered in pieces of fruit and tomato juice as he pants happily, wagging his tail. There were footsteps approaching, and the capybaras scurried off, but Oliver remained oblivious, finishing the capybara's half-eaten crops himself.. Until he got yelled at by somebody. The words were unknown to Oliver's ears but they were harsh. He looks to see a boy on his left, looking dumbfounded. He barks in a chipper manner, then trotted over to the boy who glares. "What the hell are you?" The boy uttered. Oliver nuzzled up to him, which made him fall back due to Oliver's unintentional strength. "Get away from me, you freak!" The boy snapped in aggravation. Then he and Oliver heard commotion in the distance, and they smelled smoke. "What the-" the boy turned around and ran off, trying to figure out what was causing this, and Oliver growled, all of a sudden becoming protective. He crouched, slowly walking after the boy, as they both wearily eyed the disaster and continuation of a fresh problem arising. It wasn't looking too good, and they knew it would spiral out of control if anyone didn't act fast.
