The Incident: Book 6, Part 2.

W/ Karis And Sgt. Rudo, early in the morning.

Setting, In The woods, the sun begins to rise, a weird glow casting over the sky, small forest and lake..

Karis' POV/1st Person:

I had chosen to come along with sgt. Rudo, since he wasn't too far off as when he was in search for Mya and Julian. "I hope we find them." I say in a slightly cheerful and optimistic tone, and he nods. "We Will. I know we will.'" Sgt. Rudo utters, as we continue walking. For some reason I don't know about.. He had brought a crossbow, along with arrows in his quiver. I'm assuming we're probably gonna catch some food or something along the way, too. Which definitely means we're staying out here for a while."Hopefully we get something out here." Sgt. Rudo says, and I nod In hopes of actually catching some food out here as well. Though a lot of wildlife out here has either been killed or migrated to who knows where. I thought to myself, a little apprehensive. After minutes of walking, he holds a hand up signaling for me to stop. I do that. I look at him, waiting for what he'll do next. He slowly reaches for an arrow out of his quiver, then slots it in its designated place of the crossbow, aimed, and then finally fired. A bunch of commotion, yelling and screaming. We both froze. "CORNIYAH!!!" A voice yelled, and a flurry of footsteps were heard in the distance. Sgt. Rudo sighs. A worried expression comes across my face. Maybe it was a good idea to check on them before just simply 'fleeing.' He saw my entire thoughts written on my face and he gave in. "Alright, Let's check in on whoever's down right now." He reluctantly says. I nod, full of determination and a sprinkle of apprehensiveness, knowing it wasn't going to be easy explaining our side of the story about whatever happened. We run downhill, and saw a group. It didn't take long for me to recognize who these people where: It was Corniyah, Elona and Masoma. And unfortunately, Corniyah was the not-so-lucky one to get hit by the arrow. And to make matters worse... someone we know way too well.. Rushed towards the scene. "Corniyah!- What happened!?" Enzo, worry and nervousness plastered all over his face. I didn't even know he could show those types of emotions, but other than that... I don't think he saw us yet. Corniyah was on the floor, barely conscious from being shot by the arrow that was taking a huge toll on her. Me, always playing peacemaker.. I rushed over. And to say the least, none of them looked happy to see me. What was I expecting? I sigh, raising my hands up in surrender. Elona stood up from corniyah's left, and glared at me. "Of course you're a part of this mess." Elona snarled, looking like she wanted to murder me with her own eyes if she could. Masoma mirrored her same furious expression. I gulp. Looks like this wasn't going as planned. Enzo grabbed corniyah, sitting her upright against a tree trunk, attempting to rouse her from unconsciousness. "...Enzo-" sgt. Rudo furrowed his brow. Enzo froze, then slowly turned towards him, livid. "...Obviously it was you." Enzo snarled, Sgt. Rudo stood his ground. "Sir- Listen to our part of the story." I nervously intervened. He shot a quick glare at me, Sgt. Rudo took a step forward. "Calm down. We weren't doing it intentionally. We wouldn't know that people would be out here at 4 o'clock in the morning. How responsible you are for your group, letting them run off instead of having them with you.." Sgt. Rudo snapped. Enzo sighs. I didn't like where this was going. "Sgt. Rudo-" I try to cut in and ease the tension. Sgt. Rudo only bat an eye before Looking back at Enzo.
