Malik mansion-
Two weeks flew by, and Umer's exams finally came to an end. He couldn't wait to celebrate at the party tonight, but a fear lingered in the back of his mind. His subconscious mind tried hard to ignore it.
As he walked into the house, his heart sank at the sight of Ahaan's car in the driveway.
"Ya Allah Why today of all days, Ab yeh meri shakal dekh kar hi sawaal karna shuru kardenge aur jhoot bhi pakad lenge?!" he thought, his mind racing.
But Ahaan had come home early to spend time with his brother, unaware of Umer's plans. They had a great time together, sharing a meal and conversation that lasted until 11 pm. As they parted ways, Ahaan reminded Umer to get some rest, now that his exams were over.
"Chalo beta, bohut hogaya ab tak exams the isliye kuch nahi kaha maine, ab jao sone, aur khabardar jo tum late night jaage," he said firmly but with a smile.
Umer nodded, feeling a mix of relief and guilt. He knew he is doing wrong, but the temptation of the party was hard to resist.
Umer waited till midnight, when the house was quiet and Ahaan was in deep sleep. He slipped into his room, his heart racing with excitement and guilt. He quickly changed into casual clothes and grabbed his phone and wallet.
He crept out of his room, his ears tuned to the slightest sound. He avoided the main staircase, instead using the back stairs that led to the garden. The darkness hid him as he made his way to the gate, his eyes fixed on the security guards patrolling.
He waited until they passed by, then made a run for the gate. His fingers trembled as he swiped his phone to unlock the gate, hoping Ahaan hadn't changed the code. Otherwise the whole building's alarms would blast loudly. The gate creaked open, and Umer slipped out, his breath catching in his throat.
He sprinted across the street, his eyes scanning the road for any signs of Ahaan's men. He had arranged for a friend to park their car a few steps away from his home, knowing he couldn't take his own car without alerting the security team. He grabbed the keys to his friend's car, his eyes darting around nervously, making sure he isn't being watched.
As the car sped away, Umer felt a rush of freedom mixed with a pinch of fear. He knew Ahaan would find out eventually, but for now, he was finally living life on his own terms. Little did he know, Ahaan's eyes and ears were everywhere, and it was only a matter of time before he was caught...
As he drove to the outskirts, a strange feeling crept over him - someone was following him. He shrugged it off.
Finally, he arrived at the party. Old friends, a bonfire, and a night full of fun awaited. It was a decent party, no smoking, no alcohol. But his joy was short-lived. No network coverage meant there's no contact from the outside world. And if by any chance Ahaan finds out about him sneaking out, there would be no way for him to receive the warning call, and that was not a good sign.
When he reached the destination he found all his seniors, mutuals and old friends, his eyes shined with excitement, as he scanned the room, he found a young guy in white t shirt and trousers, as he looked closer he realized he was his senior best friend, Faaris, who was very close to him but in grade 6th he moved to other city because of his father's transfer.
Umer couldn't control his excitement and rushed towards faris to hug him, Faaris was taken aback by the sudden hug, he pulled umer apart when he saw it was umer his bestie they hugged back.
Umer exclaimed in his ear
"Faaris, kaha margaya tha bhai, ek call, ek message kuch nahi kiya, mujhe toh laga tu zinda bhi nahi hai."
Faaris laughed and pulled back Umer.
