"Humein bhi to bolo kya gift mila!" Umer yelled, his curiosity getting the better of him
"Phoneeee!" Zara squealed from Ahaan's arms making others laugh
Ahaan had thoughtfully gifted her an iphone, recognizing her genuine need for one.
He gently patted her back and kept her down.
"Happy?" He asked
"Very very happy!" She said opening her arms wide to show how happy she is, Ahaan chuckled and rufflled her hairs
They all had dinner enjoying each other company's. Zara had a blast this was her first birthday which she genuinely celebrated happily and received many gifts.As they finished dinner, everyone began to say their goodbyes. Zara's face fell, not wanting the night to end.
"Fari yar rukjao na kal shaam me chali jana, we'll plan something for tomorrow!" Zara said sadly.
"Kal se mids hai bhool rahi ho kya? Revice karna hai mujhe, tumne kitne chapters cover kiye??!" Fariha said loudly making zara's jaw dropped as she realized she had completely forgotten about her exams, her gaze instantly moved towards Ahaan who was glaring at her angrily.
"Complete hogaye saare chapters?" He asked loudly, and she shook her head timidly.
"Great!" He mumbled rolling his eyes.
Everyone left and Ahaan was in parking lot to bid farewell to them. And zara rushed towards umer who was seeing photos of the event.
"Bhai mujhe nahi jana kal school maine kuch padhayi nahi ki aap koi medical note likh kar dedein!" She said poking his biceps continuously.
"Dedunga par tumhare bhaiya jii kacha chaba jaenge dono ko, unka kya karogi?!" He chuckled, raising an eyebrow
"Acha aap help kardein padhane me, bhaiya bohut daantenge mujhe bilkul bhi nahi aata!" She said worriedly.
"Mai padha deta beta par mai science student hu mujhe nahi aata yeh accounts, balance sheets and all, kal raat padh rahi thi na kuch yaad nahi hua?!" He asked.
"Mujhe toh yeh bhi nahi pata balance sheet kise kehta aapke muh se hi suna hai abhi kal economics padh rahi thi yeh accounts hai mujhe koi b subject nahi aata economics bhi nahi, ab mai kya karu!" She said stomping her feet.
"Bhaiya ke aane se phele books kholke baitho safest option bata raha hu!" He said pinching her nose
"Bohut padhna hai umer bhai poori raat hojaegi par syllabus khatam nahi hoga!" She said trying to convince him so that he could save her by giving a medical note
"Mai kuch nahi kar sakta haa tumare sath poori raat jaag sakta hu tumhe company dene ke liye!" Umer said, zara was about to say something but stopped when she heard a firm voice.
"Waqt par padhleti to zarurat nahi padti poori raat jaagne ki!" Ahaan taunted.
Zara shut her eyes tightly, she had no mood of studying on her birthday that too accounts which she hated the most.
"Ab kiska intezaar hai books lekar aao I will help you!" Ahaan said still glaring her angrily, but he knew by the time that zara's struggles with studying weren't due to a lack of intelligence she was, in fact, a sharp learner and a bright student. Rather, their mother's discouragement and constant belittling had taken a toll on Zara's confidence, leading her to procrastinate and avoid studying.
She quickly ran towards her room to get books, she knew that Ahaan will never compromise over studies
She fetched books and sat infornt of a table spreading her books all over the table. She tried hard to understand the problems but nothing was going in her mind, she glanced towards Ahaan who was sitting on couch at a distance watching her.
