"Kya hai? Kyu bulaya hai mujhe yaha?" Minaheel came towards the table where umer was waiting for her in the cozy coffee shop.
"Mujhe pata tha tum zarur aaogi!" Umer smirked leaning back in his chair.
"Khatam karo tumhara khissa hadd hogayi har baar book wali baat ko use karte ho, jao kehdo zayyan bhai se kya tha uss book me mai nahi darti unse!" She snapped dropping her bag on the table with a thud
"Toh fir kyu aayi ho nahi aati bata deta mai unhe!" Umer smirked
"Message kiya tha na tumne you owe me this kehkar kisi ke ehsaan nahi rakhti mai apne upar, batao kyu bulaya hai?" She took a deep breath to control her anger.
"Kyu naraaz ho? Har jagah se block kardiya?" Umer asked his express turned serious.
"Nahi baat karna tha mujhe tumse, toh kardiya block!" Minaheel shrugged her shoulders.
Umer nodded biting his lips.
"Tum jaanti ho na mujhse shikayat ho toh mujhe directly bata sakti ho!" Umer asked.
His face was calm and serious, this calm demeanour started melting Minaheel's heart again, she again felt seen and heard by him. She wanted to tell him how his careless words had hurt her, how his "As if I love you" had made her feel rejected. How could she confess her true feelings to him, knowing that he would never love her back? Knowing that her past would forever be a barrier between them?
"Mai thak gayi thi engagement ke kaamo se, kuch aur chizo par mood khraab tha to isliye kisi se baat karne ka mann nahi kiya, ab unblock kardungi!" Minaheel replied looking towards the menu card to avoid his gaze.
"Do it right now!" Umer said firmly.
She did as umer said, her fingers moved on their own, unblocking Umer's number with a few swift taps. It was as if her actions were no longer her own, but rather a response to some unspoken command. She realized that Umer possessed a dominating aura, one that he rarely use. But as soon as she unblocked him she realised that she agreed to him. She, the one who hated being submissive agreed at his one command, the one who causes herself trouble number of times by zayyan because of her stubbornness agreed on umer's words
"Tumhare paas to bohut log hai, mujhse baat nahi karoge toh kya hi farak padega?" Minaheel asked. She knew that if Umer chose to reveal the truth, her heart would shatter into a million pieces once again, yet she asked
"Kitne bhi log ho kuch logo ki apni jagah hoti hai aur wo jagah koi dusra nahi lesakta!" Umer replied with a depth of emotion that made Minaheel's heart skip a beat.
"Batao kya logi?" Umer asked huskily.
"Driver wait kar raha hai bahar, baad me milungi!" Minaheel stood up for an escape, attempting to sound unconcerned despite the turmoil that was brewing inside her.
He held her wrist stopping her from going. Minaheel's heart skipped a beat as she felt his warm touch.
"Baitho, wait karega driver woh kounsa minister laga hai jo usey jaake koi bills paas karne ho, agar wo itna hi busy hai toh bhijado usey mai drop kardunga!" He gestured her to sit.
"Tumhe meri watch wali baat buri lagi?" Umer asked minaheel still holding her wrist.
"Nahi lagi umer kaha na mood khraab tha chordo bhi ab aur mere liye coffee order karo!" Minaheel said, her eye fixed on his hand which was on hers.
He gazed at her for a moment then released her hand, and ordered two cups of coffee.
"Mai tumhe itna jaan chuka hu ki tum jo ho woh batati nahi ho aur jo bata rahi ho wo actually tum nahi hu!" Umer said looking in her eyes.
