It was finally the day to arrive Aiman's house to ask for her hand in marriage.
Ahaan was anxious, never in his life he had this feeling, despite knowing that Aiman's parents had already given their nod of approval but his nerves were on edge.
For the first time in his life, he felt vulnerable, like a child yearning for parental guidance. As he stood in his room, adjusting his tie for what felt like the hundredth time, his thoughts drifted to his father. He deeply missed his father presence. The weight of not having father or any relatives to accompany him in this crucial stage of his life bore down on him. But not for once he missed his mother.
Since morning he was feeling very low, his heart felt heavy, he had never been to marriages before apart from zayyan's and hania, he has no idea how things works in marriage ceremony, he was just stressed out what if he forgot a crucial custom, what if he messes up with everything, what if he don't meet Aiman's parents expectation.
He had heard stories about Aiman's family being esteemed and traditional. What if his own background, his lack of family ties, or his unconventional upbringing didn't align with their vision for their daughter's partner?
He had always been self-assured, but the prospect of being judged by Aiman's parents made him question his own worth.
Umer who was watching Ahaan doing his tie from past 40 minutes from doorway, sighed and enter in his room.
"Kya kar rahe ho bhaiya, sirf tie baandhne me help karu ya moral support bhi chahiye?" Umer stood infront of him.
Ahaan smiled, he felt a sense of calm wash over him seeing his baby brother acting mature.
"Both please!" Ahaan replied.
"You're an amazing person bhaiya, your character, your heart that's what matters, aur aap hi bolte ho na ache logo ke sath hamesha acha hota hai stress na lein, koi rishtedaar aapke sath ho na ho kya farak padta hai, aapke bhen bhai toh aapke sath hamesha se hai aur rahenge!" Umer said fixing his tie.
Ahaan took a deep breath, smiling at umer, he loves this side of umer.
When saad got to know that his brother, his best friend is missing his father, he came to malik mansion with his parents.
"Assalamualaikum chachu chachi!" Ahaan welcomed them warmly
"Walaikumassalam, humein chachu chachi kehte ho aur itna bhi haq nahi diya ki tumhare khushi aur gham baat sakein?" Arsalan, saad's father asked.
"Kaisi baatein kar rahe ho aap, aaplog se hi toh har khushi share ki hai aaj tak!" Ahaan smiled guiding them towards living room
"Ghum me shaamil nahi kiya kabhi!" Arsalan glared him.
Ahaan lowered his head, his chachu was the one who tamed him whenever he went out of line, so he is the only person in the world Ahaan is afraid off, the world saw Ahaan as fearless but arsalan was the sole exception.
The last time when Ahaan harshly scolded zara for wearing makeup at hania's wedding, Arsalan had slapped him right on his cheek when he saw zara crying and complaining to umer about Ahaan, later Ahaan took promise from Arsalan that this slap would remain between them even saad has no idea, how Arsalan treated Ahaan that day.
"Aaj toh khushi ka din hai beta, toh fir inn aankho me nami kaisi?" Azra, saad's mother cupped his cheeks.
"Nahi toh chachi kaha nam hai aankhein, yeh saad ne bakwaas ki na aapse?" Ahaan glared saad.
"Meri aankho me dekh kar kaho Ahaan yehi baat!" Arsalan glared him
"Chachuu!" Ahaan whined, zara and umer giggled delighted by seeing Ahaan under the bus.
