The soft creak of the door opening caught Ahaan's attention, and a hint of smile played on his lips. He had already sensed Zara's presence, but he pretended not to notice, curious to see what she would do next.He knew Zara was trying to sneak up on him, and he was happy to play along.

Zara decided to not knock and entered inside with a racing heart she went near Ahaan and snaked her arms around Ahaan's neck from behind.

"Bhaiya jiiii!" She kissed his cheeks.

And that's it Ahaan melted.

Ahaan turned his head, and smiled softly. He kissed her knuckles.

"Aap naraaz ho!" Zara bent forward, her face nestled in the crook of Ahaan's neck,

"Nahi toh aapne galti ki maine punish kardiya, zyada phone use kar rahi thi maine leliya baat khatam!" Ahaan shrugged.

"Ohh mujhe laga gussa honge isliye baat nahi kar rahe!" She sat on chair beside him.

"Dekh raha tha kitni nautanki karti ho mujhse baat karne ke liye!" Ahaan smirked.

"Aap nahi baat kar rahe toh mujhe hi kuch karna padega na!" She grinned and started playing with the paper weight, throwing it up and catching it.

"Kyu itna naraaz horahi thi faaris ki baat karu toh, aap toh meri laadli ho, aap, umer aur aiman ke alawa kisi aur se pyar karsakta hu?" Ahaan asked

"Faaris bhai hamesha mujhe irritate karte hai bhaiya!" Zara's grin faltered and she pouted

"Milk magwaya tha finish kiya?" Ahaan asked concentrating on his laptop.

"Nahi!" She replied meekly with a sheepish smile.

"Nahi peena tha toh magwaya hi kyu? Kisine force nahi kiya tha, Pata hai na kitne log taras rahe hai ek ek drop milk ke liye aur aap waste karogi utho come on getup jao apni cup lekao aao yaha mere paas baithkar complete karna!" Ahaan said little firmly.

Zara was throwing paper weight up but got distracted as she listened Ahaan's scolding, she lost her focus and missed the catch and the paper weight hit her hardly on her forehead with a loud thud

"Owwwww!" Zara screamed holding her forehead.

"Zara!" Ahaan's eyes widened as he heard loud noice of the heavy paper weight hitting her head.

She bent down on table clutching her head.

"Zara batao mujhe!" Ahaan tried to remove her hand.

"Bhaiyaa!" She cried out.

"Mujhe dekhne to do!" Ahaan moved her up by shoulders.

He removed her hands from her forehead and his eyes widened in horror. The paperweight had hit her badly, causing a deep gash on her forehead. Blood began to trickle down her face, and Zara's eyes widened in shock as she felt the warm liquid dripping down her skin.

She looked at her fingers strained with her blood. And her hands started shivering uncontrollably, this was same thing that happened in Shah house when her head got hit with table, traumatic memories of shah house came back.

"Bhaiya, bhaiya..bhaiya ji khoon!" She stammered while crying.

"Shhh zaruuu relaxx bhaiya yahi hai kuch bura nahi sonchna thodi si chot lagi hai beta thik hojaegi, past me jaane ki zarurat nahi hai calm down bhaiya hai na sab theek kardenge!" He had already anticipated that the sight of  blood might trigger her memories of that fateful night, and he was prepared to comfort her. He kissed her forehead, and stood up to fetch first aid box.

He quickly bought it and started cleaning the wound with cotton dip in antiseptic, he spoke soothing words to her to calm her emotions and distract her mind.
