I swear I'll get back to fics lol! I just listened to The Great Gatsby cast album and I'm n o t ok. But listening to it made me wish I could feel romantic attraction... and reminded me of something someone posted awhile ago about not shipping Karah/Newsbians because it feels forced, like they were the only two characters left and it's aro ace erasure. Which is V A L I D, but I also feel the need to defend my saying my thoughts:

I personally don't think of them acearo in my head. They both clearly show interest in romance and end up dating Jack, which you could argue social standards but eh.

And though staying single and such would be a better option for Katherine and her 'I don't need a man' attitude, I think her being in a wlw relationship also adds to that. Not to mention it's fun to put both of Jack's love interests together.

I do not think that the ship came about because they were the only two without a ship ! I think people thought it was a fun ship, and added to the characters ! Plus there's plenty of acearo headcannons in the fandom :) I personally think of Crutchie as aroace, Davey as greyscale asexual, and specs is somewhere on there as well!
