"What are you going to order, Ellie?" Amalia asked me as she was looking through the menu card.
"I think I'll just get a spinach salad" I said.
I didn't want a spinach salad, I wanted the steak with fries on the side which I had dreamt of while in the hospital. That moment I had waited for was never going to come if I wanted to achieve anything in life.
I couldn't even achieve being skinny in life.
"Yeah, but that's a side order. What are you going to do for the main course?" She questioned.
"That is my main course, I ate not so long ago" I lied. The last time I ate was when I was out running with my mother, and we stopped for a smoothie that only consisted of bananas and pears. It tasted awful but it fueled me enough to keep going.
"What are we even doing here then? We should just order drinks instead" Fleur said. "I ate a big lunch anyway, so I won't mind if I only have to buy two drinks to get waisted"
"You're so smart, Flo. I love it when I barely eat because then I can easily get drunk" Amalia agreed.
I let the dinner card fall to the table since they had already made up their mind. I guess I could skip a day without food, it would speed up the process of getting skinnier faster.
"Are you going to get the usual?" Fleur raised an eyebrow and me with a smile.
"Of course, dry martini will always be my go-to drink no matter what" I chuckled. The only reason why it became one of my go-go drinks was because it usually was the one with the least number of calories in on the drink card.
"I think I'll get one of those, just for old sake times" Amalie smiled and left the drink card on top of the dinner card.
I looked at the folds of the dinner card that got closed, it meant that my option for eating today was closed. It was fine. I was going to be fine because I would eat tomorrow. Not more than what I would have eaten today, just a reset of today.
We ordered our drinks and got straight to the news that no one spoke of. Yeah, that's right, me working with famous artists. Not the fact that I have been gone for 7 months because of an eating disorder that they were well aware of.
"I can't believe you will work for Joost. I remember the day he dropped out of gymnasium because apparently, he thought he was too famous to get an education" Amalia laughed.
"I completely forgot that day" I admitted.
"How could you forget that day? You said it was one of the best days of your life to never see him again" Amalie reminded me. "But here you are years later, working for him so I guess he was right about something"
"I actually think he has gotten kinda hot" Fleur said giggling as she took the first sip of her margarita.
"You think so? I think he pretty much looks the same as he did in gymnasium" I said with a hesitant look because I definitely didn't see what Fleur was seeing.
"No, not at all. He has style and a more mysterious look about him now. I can't quite figure him out and maybe that's why he looks so hot all of a sudden" she explained.
"Wait until he opens his mouth because he is the exact same cunt as he was back then" I said. I didn't feel like Joost had changed one bit but that was probably because I was the only one still in contact with him.
My phone then started ringing from my purse. "Who is it?" Amalia leaned her head curiously towards it.
"It's just Aggu, I will call him back later" I shrugged.
