When I became a manager for a musician, I didn't think I would also have to take over the venue security's jobs. I believed that every venue wanted to give the people the best concert possible, while of course also making money. But when people started passing out everywhere due to the heat, they looked the other way. People were begging for water while they were being denied it.
The Paris show was rough on everyone. I had to be the one who ended up going into the crowd handing out water to people who were in need of it to not pass out like lots of people had done. Joost and Aggu tried their hardest to help carry a few people over the barricades, however security thought that they needed to be protected from the crowd and denied them. The only thing they could do was comfort people and make sure everyone in the crowd was taking care of each other.
They ended the show earlier than expected and then after the show the artist did more for the crowd than the venue did. Brenda and Teun made sure that the people who had passed out got hydrated and got food while Aggu went to get some ice bags for the people. Everyone was helping to ensure everyone was okay.
I on the other hand had to have a serious talk with the venue owner who had been hiding in his office throughout the whole concert. I walked through the corridors to get to his office being furious how they could let something like this escalate to this extent.
"Hey where are you going?" I heard a voice behind me ask.
"I need to complain and do something about this venue and their security" I turned around quickly to see it was Joost, but I truly didn't have time to chit chat with him.
"I'll come with you" he ran up to me.
I let a hand on his chest to gently push him away. "No, please just go back to the others. I don't need this to affect you if it ends poorly. I'll take care of it so if he gets mad or anything then it will go out on me" I told him.
"I don't care about my reputation or if he has anything to say. People were passing out without anyone helping them from the venue while their job was to make sure the concert was safe. They failed to do that so of course I need to show my frustrations "Joost explained to me.
"And I'll let him know that, just head back" I told him once more but with a little smile to encourage him that I had this under control.
"Nah I'm coming with you" He stated as he tried walking but my hand on his chest kept him grounded.
"For fuck's sake, just listen to me for once!" I raised my voice which caused him to take a step back.
"Hey Ellie, calm down. There is no need to yell at me. We are both just trying to help the people so let's not overreact" Joost told me with a comforting look. He tried reaching for my hands, but I dismissed it.
"Don't tell me that I'm overreacting! I'm fucking not, but right now you're getting on my last nerves so fuck off and border someone else" I tried to walk away but his hand grabbed my arm.
"I didn't do shit so stop trying to shame me for wanting to help you. What happened to us not getting into useless fights? All I intend to do is to be there by your side, but you keep doing this crap" His own voice grew with annoyance.
"I don't need you to help me do my job albino. It's part of my job to talk to annoying dumb venue owners, so please just let me do that without getting in the way of it. My job is also to protect your reputation during this tour but I'm so close to just letting you fuck it up for yourself, but I guess you're used to that" I said harshly.
I was filled with frustration for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I hadn't eaten anything all day, it was hot, and I let my frustrations get the best of me. My head was dizzy while my body was simmering.
