As the first rays of sunlight peeked through the cottage windows, Lucy and Austin stirred awake. The gentle ocean breeze carried the salty scent of the sea through the open window, reminding them of their beautiful weekend getaway."Morning, love," Austin murmured, stretching. "Ready to head back to reality?"Lucy smiled, a mix of contentment and anticipation in her eyes. "As wonderful as this has been, I can't wait to see the kids."They packed their bags, stealing glances at each other and sharing soft smiles. The sky outside was a brilliant blue, dotted with wispy clouds.Over a quick breakfast of leftover pastries from the bakery, they chatted about their trip home."I bet Lori's going to talk our ears off about her weekend," Austin chuckled.Lucy nodded, her eyes twinkling. "And Timmy will probably be attached to your leg for the rest of the day."As they drove home, the coastal scenery gradually gave way to familiar neighborhoods. Lucy's heart swelled with emotion, thinking about reuniting with their children."You know," she said, turning to Austin, "as much as I loved our time away, there's something special about coming home."Austin reached over and squeezed her hand. "Home is where the heart is, and our hearts are definitely with those little munchkins."Pulling into their driveway, they were greeted by excited shrieks from inside the house. Before they could even get out of the car, the front door burst open, and Lori and Timmy came running out, followed by a smiling Sarah."Mommy! Daddy!" the children cried in unison, launching themselves into their parents' arms. After saying goodbye to Sarah and thanking her for watching the kids, the family headed inside. Austin and Lucy exchanged knowing glances before presenting the gifts they had bought."We got you something special," Lucy said, handing each child a wrapped package.Lori squealed with delight at her new seashell necklace, while Timmy hugged his plush seal tightly. As evening approached, they fell into their familiar routine. During bathtime, Austin couldn't resist making the kids laugh with his silly voices and jokes."Why don't fish wear shoes?" he asked, helping Timmy with his pajamas."Why, Daddy?" Timmy giggled."Because they're afrayed of sole!" Austin replied, tickling Timmy's feet and eliciting peals of laughter. At bedtime, as Lucy read a story to Lori, Austin tucked Timmy in, feeling a deep sense of contentment. The weekend getaway had been wonderful, but this - these simple moments with their children - was what truly mattered.Later, as Austin and Lucy settled into bed themselves, they shared a loving look."It's good to be home," Austin said softly.Lucy nodded, snuggling closer. "The perfect end to a perfect weekend."
