# Chapter: A Morning of Concern

A few weeks had passed, and everything was going wonderfully for Lori on set. Her confidence soared as she embraced her role, and the excitement of filming filled her days. However, one early morning, she woke up feeling a bit off.

### A Rough Start

Lori opened her eyes to the soft light filtering through her curtains, but something felt different. She tried to sit up, but as soon as she did, a wave of dizziness washed over her. She grasped the edge of the bed, trying to steady herself, but the room spun around her.

Feeling anxious, she reached for her phone and quickly typed a message to her dad in the next room: **“Ready, Daddy. I don’t feel good.”**

### Daddy to the Rescue

A few moments later, Austin read the text, and his heart raced. He dropped what he was doing and rushed to Lori's room, his mind racing with worry. As he entered, his heart sank at the sight before him—there was his “little girl,” sitting on the edge of her bed, pale and visibly shaken.

“Lori!” he exclaimed, quickly walking over to her. He gently sat down beside her, concern etched across his face. “It’s okay, Daddy’s here. Can you tell me what’s wrong?”

Lori looked up at him, her eyes filled with a mix of fear and frustration. “I tried to stand up, but I instantly felt dizzy and like I was going to pass out.”

### Comforting His Daughter

Austin placed a reassuring hand on her back, feeling the tension in her body. “Let’s take a few deep breaths together, okay? Just breathe in… and out.” He guided her through a few calming breaths, hoping to ease her anxiety.

“Do you think you can try to lie down for a bit?” he suggested gently. “Maybe you just need a little more rest.”

Lori nodded slowly, still feeling unsteady. “I don’t know, Dad. I feel so weird.”

“Let’s check your temperature and see if you have any other symptoms,” Austin said, rising to grab the thermometer from the bathroom. He returned quickly and took her temperature, his brow furrowing as he noted it was slightly elevated.

### A Father's Concern

“Looks like you might have a little fever,” he said, concern deepening. “Have you eaten anything this morning?”

“No, I just woke up feeling bad,” Lori replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Austin’s protective instincts kicked in. “Alright, let’s get you some water and maybe some toast. I’ll stay right here with you, and we’ll figure this out together.”

He helped her back to bed, tucking her in gently. “Just relax, sweet pea. I’ll be right back.”

### A Supportive Presence

As he moved to the kitchen, Austin’s mind raced. He thought about how hard Lori had been working and how much she loved being on set. He wanted to ensure she was okay, not just for her sake but also for the sake of her dreams.

Returning with a glass of water and a slice of toast, he sat on the edge of her bed again. “Here you go. Just take small sips and a bite when you feel up to it.”

Lori took the water gratefully, her eyes meeting his. “Thanks, Dad. I’m sorry for worrying you.”

“Hey, no need to apologize,” Austin said, giving her a warm smile. “You’re my little girl, and I’ll always be here for you. Let’s just take it one step at a time.”
