The next day, it was time to take Lora home. As Ashley was getting everything ready, Austin walked into the room, a playful grin on his face. “Well, sis, are you ready to blow this popsicle stand?”

Ashley giggled, the lightness of the moment lifting her spirits. “More than ready! I can’t wait to show Lora her room and start making memories that I know she’ll remember for years.”

She paused for a moment, feeling a wave of sentimentality wash over her. “I can’t wait for us to share stories of Mama with her,” she said, her voice softening.

Austin stepped closer and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. “We will definitely share stories of Mama and how  strong she was and her humor that I clearly inherited,” he replied, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

Ashley smiled through her emotions, grateful for the bond they shared. “She’ll know how much she was loved,” Ashley said, her heart swelling with pride.

“Absolutely,” Austin agreed, pulling back to look at her. “And we’ll make sure she knows just how special she is, just like Mama would have wanted.

As they finished packing up the last few items, Ashley felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Bringing Lora home marked the start of a new chapter, one filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Once everything was ready, they carefully placed Lora in her car seat, and Ashley took one last look around the room. “Ready to go, little one?” she whispered, her heart full.

With Austin by her side, they made their way out of the hospital, ready to embrace the adventure of parenthood together. The sun shone brightly as they stepped into the world outside, a symbol of the bright future ahead for their family.

Mischief on the Horizon

As they were getting Lora settled into the car, Austin looked at Ashley with a mischievous grin. “You know I’m going to corrupt her, right? I’m going to teach her all of my annoying habits and all of my jokes.”

Ashley laughed, shaking her head. “Oh no, what have I done?” she teased, her eyes sparkling with affection. “You’re going to turn her into a little prankster!”

“Exactly!” Austin replied, feigning innocence. “Just think of the fun we’ll have. She’ll be the life of the party with my sense of humor.”

Ashley chuckled, imagining the future. “As long as you don’t teach her to pull pranks on me, we’ll be fine!”

Austin raised an eyebrow, pretending to consider it. “No promises! But seriously, I’ll make sure she knows how to have a good time. Life’s too short to take everything seriously, right?”

“Right,” Ashley agreed, her heart swelling with gratitude for her brother’s playful spirit. “Just remember, I want her to be a good influence, too!”

“Of course! Balance is key,” he said, winking. “But a little mischief never hurt anyone.”

With Lora safely buckled in, Ashley took a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. “I can’t wait to see what adventures await us,” she said, glancing at her brother.

“Get ready, sis. We’re in for one wild ride!” Austin replied, his grin infectious.

As they climbed into the car, Ashley felt a wave of love wash over her. With Austin by her side and Lora in the back, they were ready to embrace whatever came their way—together

A Moment of Vulnerability

As Austin was driving, he glanced over at Ashley. “Want to stop somewhere and get that ice cream we talked about when you were in labor?” he asked, trying to lighten the mood.
