After a long week of juggling family and responsibilities, Austin felt a spark of inspiration. He knew he and Lucy needed some quality time together, away from the chaos of daily life. With a plan forming in his mind, he called Baz."Hey, mate! Would you and Catherine mind watching the kids for the weekend? Lucy and I want to sneak away for a little romantic getaway to the beach," he asked, excitement bubbling in his voice."Absolutely! A weekend with the kids sounds like a blast," Baz replied. "I have a surprise for you," he said, taking her hand."What is it?" she asked, curiosity dancing in her eyes,"I called Baz. He's watching the kids this weekend.

We're going to the beach just the two of us!"Her face lit up. "Oh my goodness! That's wonderful!" She jumped into his arms, laughter spilling out as he spun her around. As they drove to the beach cottage, the sun setting on the horizon, Austin felt a sense of peace. Lucy chatted excitedly about the trip, her voice a melody he cherished. But in the back of his mind, he wondered if they could truly disconnect from their hectic lives. Once they arrived, the cozy cottage welcomed them with its inviting charm. They unpacked and settled in, the sound of waves crashing nearby soothing their spirits. After a quick dinner, they stepped out onto the balcony, the stars twinkling above like scattered diamonds."Look at that view," Lucy breathed, leaning against the railing. "It's breathtaking."Austin wrapped his arm around her, feeling grateful. "Just like you," he teased, and she playfully nudged him. "Wait here; I have to get something," he said, heading back inside. In his luggage, he retrieved a small velvet box containing a beautiful pair of pearl earrings and a handwritten note. He knew his handwriting could be a challenge for her, so he decided to read it aloud. Returning to the balcony, he handed her the box. "Open it," he said, excitement bubbling within him. As she unveiled the earrings, tears formed in her eyes. "Baby, what's this for?" she asked, her voice trembling. Austin grinned. "I thought maybe your ears," he joked, and she laughed, gently swatting his arm. "Seriously, baby!" I wanted to get you something you can wear every day or on special occasions," he said, his voice sincere. Lucy slipped the earrings on, her eyes lighting up.

"They're beautiful. Thank you."But Austin wasn't finished. "Let me read you the note," he said, unfolding it. "I know my handwriting can be tricky."As he read, Lucy listened intently, her heart swelling with love. "You're amazing, Lucy. Every day with you is a gift. You make me want to be a better man."She felt the warmth of his words wrap around her. "This is so sweet, Austin," she whispered, her heart racing. He continued, quoting something his mother used to say: "Always remember to cherish the little things in life that matter."Lucy leaned in closer, resting her forehead against his. "Do you think we'll be able to sleep?" Lucy asked, a playful smile on her lips."Probably not," he chuckled, "but let's at least try. Tomorrow's going to be amazing!"As they prepared for bed, Austin felt a sense of excitement bubbling inside him.
