The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window as Lucy and Austin stirred awake. After taking her morning dose of thyroid medication, Lucy grabbed her phone and glanced at the date. Her heart sank as she realized it was the day Olivia had to leave for Australia.

Feeling a wave of sadness wash over her, Lucy frowned. “I can’t believe today’s the day. I don’t want Olivia to go!”

Noticing her distress, Austin turned to her, concern etched on his face. “I know, baby. I’m going to miss her too,” he said softly, wrapping an arm around her. “But remember, we’ll see her again soon. She’s doing that movie with my production company!”

Lucy sighed, leaning into him. “I know, but it’s just hard. It feels like we just got to spend time together.”

Austin nodded, understanding her feelings. “I get it. But think about all the fun we had! We made some great memories, and we’ll make more when she comes back. Plus, you can always video chat with her!”

Lucy managed a small smile, appreciating his efforts to cheer her up. “You’re right. It’s just going to feel different without her here.”

“Absolutely,” Austin agreed. “But this isn’t goodbye forever. Just think of it as a ‘see you later.’ And who knows? Maybe we can plan a trip to Australia next time!”

Lucy’s eyes brightened at the idea. “That would be amazing! I’d love to see her home and explore.”

“Exactly! So let’s focus on the good times we had and look forward to the next adventure,” Austin encouraged, squeezing her shoulder gently.

With a deep breath, Lucy nodded. “Thanks for being so supportive. I really appreciate it.”

“Always,” he replied, planting a soft kiss on her forehead. “Now, how about we whip up some breakfast to fuel our spirits before we have to say goodbye?”

“Sounds perfect,” Lucy said, feeling a little lighter as they got out of bed together. With Austin by her side, she knew they could tackle anything—especially the bittersweet moments of friendship.

As Lucy and Austin headed downstairs, the delicious aroma of breakfast wafted through the air, pulling them into the kitchen. To their surprise, they found Olivia already hard at work, flipping pancakes and sizzling bacon.

Lucy and Austin stood there in shock for a moment before they both exclaimed, “Good morning, Liv!”

Olivia turned around, her face lighting up with a smile. “Good morning, you two!” She looked at Lucy, her expression shifting to one of concern. “Did you remember to take your meds this morning?”

Before Lucy could respond, Austin jumped in confidently. “Yeah, she did! I made sure of it.”

Lucy shot him a grateful smile, appreciating his support. “Thanks for looking out for me,” she said, stepping closer to Olivia. “But seriously, I didn’t expect to find you here cooking. This is such a nice surprise!”

Olivia shrugged playfully, flipping a pancake with a flourish. “I couldn’t let you two start the day without a proper breakfast! Plus, I thought it might distract you from the fact that I’m leaving today.”

Austin nodded, grinning. “Well, it’s definitely working! This smells amazing. What’s on the menu?”

“Pancakes, bacon, and some fresh fruit,” Olivia replied, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “A little taste of home before I head back!”

Lucy felt her heart swell with warmth. “You’re the best, Liv. I can’t believe you’re making breakfast for us on your last day.”

“Of course! It’s the least I can do,” Olivia said, flipping another pancake. “And besides, I wanted to make sure we had one last meal together before I go.”
