The sun streamed through the bedroom window, painting warm stripes across Austin's face. He stirred, his eyelids fluttering open to the sight of Lucy, looking radiant in the golden morning light. She smiled softly, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," Lucy whispered, her voice soft as a summer breeze. "It's a beautiful day. Don't you want to wake up to it?"

Austin stretched, his muscles protesting the sudden shift from slumber to consciousness.  "What time is it?" he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.

"It's already nine o'clock, and the smell of bacon is practically begging for you to join us."  Lucy chuckled,  "Don't worry, it's  *you* that we're all excited to see."

Austin finally sat up, his brain slowly catching up to the reality of the day. He glanced at the clock.  "Nine o'clock? It's Saturday!  Why are you up...and why are you smiling so much?"  He peered at Lucy, his eyes widening as he took in her mischievous grin.

"A little surprise for you," she purred, her voice laced with a hint of playful conspiracy. "Maybe it's time you took a break from acting and finally got to enjoy a lazy Saturday morning with the family."

Austin's heart warmed. "You're right," he said, a smile spreading across his face. "I think I might just do that."

He climbed out of bed, the scent of frying bacon already filling his senses.

Lucy joined him at the door, nudging him towards the kitchen. "Everyone's downstairs," she whispered, her hand lingering on his arm. "We thought you should eat breakfast in bed, since you're such a big shot these days."

The aroma of breakfast hit Austin full force as he entered the kitchen, a symphony of savory and sweet: the crispy sizzle of bacon, the fluffy sweetness of waffles, the gentle scent of oat milk, and the tangy freshness of strawberries.

The dining table was decorated with a colorful hand-drawn banner that Timmy had made: “Welcome to Dad’s Break!”  Lori, sporting a mischievous grin and a smear of strawberry jam on her cheek, was piling a mountain of fluffy waffles with whipped cream and fruit.

“Oh my,” Austin remarked, looking from Lucy to the kids, and back again. “You guys really outdid yourselves. This is almost as good as a Golden Globe.”

“Almost?” Lori teased, grabbing another fistful of strawberries.

A mischievous glint in her eyes, Lucy grabbed a pitcher filled with icy orange juice and placed it on the table. "Now, let's see… we need some of Timmy's trademark 'extra' for this awesome breakfast." She chuckled, pulling out a handful of tiny, colorful sprinkles from the pantry.

Timmy, with the zeal of a seasoned chef, sprinkled the sugary confetti generously on top of the waffles. "Voilà! Dad's magic waffles!" He declared with a flourish.

The meal was a joyous affair, filled with laughter and playful banter. Austin savored each bite, relishing the simple joy of being with his family.

"So, what should we do today?" Lori asked, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

“We were thinking somewhere fun,” Lucy chimed in, giving a meaningful glance at Austin.

“Fun? Hmm,” Austin mused, taking a sip of his oat milk. “How about a trip to Disneyland?"

The kids went wild with excitement.

"Yeah! Disneyland!” Timmy yelled, his voice filled with glee.

The afternoon sun shone brightly as the Butlers piled into the family minivan, their laughter and chatter filling the car.
