Mornings in Stars Hollow was a calm, almost serene affair. Birds chirped, the sun cast a golden hue over the town, and the air was filled with the distant hum of casual conversation and laughter. But inside the Gilmore house, the atmosphere was anything but tranquil.

Alessia sat at the kitchen table, toying with a piece of toast she had no intention of eating. Lorelai was bustling around, making coffee and chatting animatedly with Rory about their upcoming plans for the day.

"So, after we hit the market, we'll head to Miss Patty's for the new dance class schedule. Then we can grab lunch at Luke's," Lorelai said, her voice full of excitement.

"Sounds good," Rory replied, smiling. "Maybe we can stop by the bookstore too?"

"Absolutely, we need to keep feeding that book addiction of yours," Lorelai teased, giving Rory a playful nudge.

Alessia cleared her throat, trying to get their attention. "What about me? Can I come?"

Lorelai barely glanced her way. "Oh, honey, I thought you had plans with Isabella today."

Alessia's heart sank. "No, I don't. I can come with you guys."

"Maybe another time, sweetie. Rory and I have a lot to get through today," Lorelai said dismissively, already turning her attention back to Rory.

Alessia bit her lip, trying to hold back the wave of frustration building inside her. She took a deep breath, attempting to keep her voice steady. "I can help, you know. I want to spend time with you two."

Lorelai turned back, her expression apologetic but still not fully attentive. "It's just that Rory and I have our little routine. It might be easier if you just did your own thing today."

That was the final straw. Alessia felt the floodgates burst open. "You always do this," she said, her voice trembling with anger. "You always exclude me. It's like I don't even exist."

Lorelai finally looked at her, surprise evident on her face. "Alessia, that's not fair. We just thought you'd be busy."

"You never ask!" Alessia shouted. "You just assume I don't want to be part of things. I'm tired of being left out. I'm tired of being ignored!"

Rory looked between them, worry etched on her face. "Alessia, maybe we can—"

But Alessia didn't let her finish. "No, Rory, this isn't about you. This is about Mom never including me in anything."

Lorelai frowned, her hands on her hips. "Alessia, that's not true. We include you in plenty of things."

"Name one!" Alessia challenged, tears of frustration welling in her eyes. "You two have this special bond, and I'm always the third wheel. I'm your daughter too, you know!"

The room fell silent. For a moment, no one spoke. The tension was thick, hanging in the air like a storm cloud about to burst.

"Alessia, we love you," Lorelai said finally, her voice softer. "But sometimes it's hard to balance everything."
