As the car rumbled through the streets of New Haven, Alessia found herself wedged between Colin and Logan in the backseat, with Finn sprawled across the front, half-singing and half-mocking whatever random song was playing on the radio. They were headed toward Yale, a destination that should've felt familiar and routine by now. But after the whirlwind weekend she'd just had, it was anything but ordinary.

Alessia hadn't planned on spending so much time away from Rory-she hadn't even told her she'd be gone. And now, after days of unpredictable adventure and an overwhelming connection with Logan, she wasn't quite sure how she'd explain her sudden reappearance.

"Almost there," Logan said, leaning slightly toward her as he glanced out the window at the passing streets. His voice was low, casual, but Alessia could feel the undercurrent of something deeper every time he spoke to her.

Colin nudged her playfully. "You ready for the inquisition? Rory's probably been gathering evidence like she's about to file a missing person report."

Alessia laughed, though her mind was still buzzing. "Yeah, I'm sure she's got questions. I've been gone longer than I planned."

"Just tell her you got kidnapped by us," Finn chimed in from the front seat, turning around with a grin. "We'll back you up. I'm sure Rory will find me very persuasive."

Logan smirked. "I think Rory's a bit immune to your charms at this point, Finn."

"Impossible," Finn replied with mock indignation. "My charms are universal."

Colin shook his head. "You mean universally ignored."

"Harsh, Colin. But I'll have you know, Rory is just playing hard to get. Beneath that bookish exterior, she's harboring a deep infatuation with me."

Alessia rolled her eyes. "Yeah, sure, that's definitely what's going on."

They all laughed, the playful teasing bouncing around the car. Logan, who had been quieter than usual, glanced over at Alessia, his smile softening. "What's Rory going to say when she finds out you've been hanging out with us instead of hitting the books at Harvard?"

Alessia shrugged, trying to ignore the way Logan's voice sent a shiver down her spine. "I'll think of something. Maybe I'll just blame Finn."

"Always a safe bet," Logan teased.

Finn, who had been quiet for an unusual stretch of time, suddenly perked up as they turned onto the campus. "Oi, Colin!" he exclaimed, pointing at a girl crossing the quad. "Now there's a vision of loveliness if I've ever seen one."

Colin sighed dramatically but followed Finn's gaze. "You've got the attention span of a goldfish, mate," he muttered, though he clearly wasn't about to pass up the opportunity.

With a mischievous glint in his eye, Finn unbuckled his seatbelt and practically jumped out of the car before it came to a full stop. Colin rolled his eyes but followed, muttering something about being dragged along on yet another one of Finn's escapades.

"You're on your own, darling!" Finn called out, waving back at Alessia as he and Colin made a beeline toward the girl, leaving her alone with Logan.

The car came to a halt just outside Rory's dorm, and Alessia suddenly felt the air shift between her and Logan. The playful energy that had filled the car minutes before was replaced by a thick, palpable tension as Logan stepped out and circled around to open her door.

"Looks like it's just us," he said, his grin teasing as he offered her a hand.

Alessia slid out of the car, her heart pounding in her chest. She felt hyper-aware of every move, every glance, every step as they walked together toward the entrance of the dorm. The space between them felt charged, and she could sense that neither of them were ready for this to end, even if it was only a temporary goodbye.

When they reached the entrance, Logan stopped and turned to face her, his hands sliding casually into his pockets. "So," he started, his tone lighter than the intensity of his gaze. "Back to reality?"

Alessia smiled, though her chest tightened. "Yeah... something like that."

There was a moment-a beat of silence-that felt like it stretched for miles. Logan's eyes lingered on hers, his usual playful smirk softening into something more sincere. For the first time since she'd met him, there was no teasing, no cocky quip ready to roll off his tongue. Just the weight of everything unsaid hanging between them.

"I had fun," Alessia said, her voice barely a whisper, though she wasn't sure if "fun" even came close to describing what the last few days had been.

Logan stepped a little closer, his voice dropping low. "Yeah. Me too."

The space between them seemed to dissolve as Logan leaned in, and for a split second, Alessia thought he might kiss her. Her breath hitched, her heart racing. But instead, he paused, just inches away, his gaze flicking from her eyes to her lips and back again.

"See you around, Harvard?" he said, his voice thick with the tension that crackled between them.

Alessia exhaled, her pulse still thudding in her ears. "Yeah. See you around."

With a final smile, Logan took a step back, his eyes lingering on her for just a second longer before he turned and headed back toward the car. Alessia watched him go, her heart still pounding in her chest as he disappeared from view.

As soon as she stepped into the dorm, the familiar smell of Rory's room hit her, grounding her back to reality. But reality had other plans, and it came crashing down in the form of Rory, standing in the middle of the room with wide, confused eyes.

"Alessia?" Rory's voice was filled with disbelief. "Where the hell have you been?"

Alessia froze, her mind racing for an explanation, but nothing quite fit. "Uh... I went out for some air?" she said weakly, though even she knew how ridiculous that sounded.

"Out for air? You've been gone for days!" Rory crossed her arms, her eyebrow raised, waiting for a real answer.

Alessia bit her lip, trying to figure out how to explain everything without sounding completely insane. "It's... a long story."

Rory didn't look convinced, but she sighed, shaking her head. "You better start explaining because last time I saw you, you were asleep. And now you just waltz in like nothing happened?"

Alessia dropped onto the bed, knowing that whatever explanation she gave wouldn't cover the whirlwind of emotions still swirling inside her. And certainly not the look Logan had given her before he walked away.
