The sun hung high in the sky over Stars Hollow, casting a warm, golden glow on the town's baseball field. The stands were packed with townspeople, all eagerly awaiting the start of the game. Dean, Rory's boyfriend, was out on the field, warming up with his team. Rory and Alessia had found a spot in the bleachers, right behind home plate, where they could cheer him on.

Alessia stretched her legs out in front of her, leaning back with her arms spread across the back of the bench. "So, how's the debate team going?" she asked Rory, who was engrossed in a book as usual, even at a softball game.

Rory looked up, a small smile on her face. "It's good. We're preparing for a big match against Hartford Prep next week. What about you? Any new rebellious adventures?"

Alessia smirked. "Just the usual. Sneaking out, avoiding detention. You know, typical Alessia stuff."

As they chatted, Luke joined them, carrying a tray with hot dogs and sodas. He handed a soda to Rory and offered a hot dog to Alessia. "Here, try not to spill mustard all over yourself."

Alessia accepted the hot dog with a grin. "Thanks, Luke. Always looking out for my culinary needs."

Luke grunted in response, his eyes already scanning the field. "Where's Dean? He better be ready to play his best."

Rory pointed to Dean, who was on the pitcher's mound, looking focused and determined. "He's ready. He's been practicing a lot."

As the game began, the crowd's excitement grew. Dean's team was off to a strong start, and the cheers from the stands were deafening. Alessia found herself getting caught up in the energy of the game, yelling encouragements along with Rory.

However, it wasn't long before Kirk, the town's resident oddball, started making snide comments from the sidelines. "Nice throw, Dean! Did you learn that from watching cartoons?"

Luke's face darkened, and he stood up, glaring at Kirk. "Hey, Kirk, why don't you keep your comments to yourself? Let the players focus on the game."

Kirk, unperturbed, shrugged. "Just calling it like I see it, Luke. No need to get all worked up."

Luke's expression turned thunderous. "That's it." He stomped over to Kirk, causing a few heads to turn. "You either shut up or get out of here."

Kirk, eyes wide with a mix of fear and amusement, quickly stammered, "I just remembered, I have to go... uh, feed my cat." He turned and dashed away with exaggerated speed, leaving Luke to shake his head in exasperation.

Alessia couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. "Nice going, Luke. I think you just scared Kirk into next week."

Luke grumbled as he returned to his seat. "I just can't stand it when people can't keep their mouths shut during a game."
