Alessia practically ran through the school hallways, dodging students and backpacks as she made her way to Beau's locker. She couldn't wait another second to tell him the news. Her acceptance letters had arrived, and she had gotten into Yale—her dream school. The excitement bubbled up inside her, threatening to spill over as she finally spotted Beau at his locker.
He was leaning against the locker, casually flipping through his phone. Alessia didn't even try to hide the grin on her face as she called out, "Beau!"
He looked up, his face lighting up when he saw her. "Hey! What's got you so hyped?"
Alessia didn't answer right away. Instead, she pulled out the acceptance letter from her bag and handed it to him, practically bouncing on her toes. "Read it!"
Beau took the letter, his eyes scanning the first few lines before widening in surprise. "No way!" He looked up at her, a huge grin spreading across his face. "You got into Yale?! That's amazing, Alessia!"
Before she could respond, he dropped the letter and wrapped her in a tight hug, lifting her off the ground as he spun her around. Alessia laughed, the sound full of pure joy as she clung to him.
"I'm so freaking proud of you!" Beau said as he set her back down. "You're gonna crush it at Yale."
Alessia beamed at him, her heart racing from the excitement of the moment. "I still can't believe it! It feels like a dream."
"Well, it's real," Beau said, grinning. "And you deserve it. So, how are we celebrating?"
Alessia's eyes sparkled mischievously. "There's a party at Max's place tonight. Wanna go?"
Beau raised an eyebrow, his grin turning slightly wicked. "Oh, I'm definitely in. Let's celebrate in style."
That evening, the party at Max's house was in full swing by the time Alessia and Beau arrived. The place was packed with students, the music loud enough to feel like it was vibrating through the walls. Alessia felt a rush of excitement as they pushed their way through the crowd, greeting familiar faces and exchanging congratulations.
Beau grabbed them both drinks as soon as they made it inside. "To Yale!" he said, holding up his cup with a grin.
"To Yale!" Alessia echoed, clinking her cup against his before taking a long sip. The alcohol was strong, burning slightly as it went down, but Alessia didn't care. Tonight was about celebrating, and she was determined to have fun.
As they navigated the crowded house, they bumped into some familiar faces. Madeline and Louise, somehow always in the know about where the best parties were, had made the trek from Hartford, proving yet again that they never missed a good time.
Alessia had met them a few years ago through Rory. Despite the fact that Madeline and Louise went to Chilton and she attended Stars Hollow High, they had hit it off surprisingly well. The two Chilton girls were initially drawn to Alessia's laid-back vibe, a refreshing contrast to the high-strung, competitive atmosphere they were used to at school. They had bonded over shared interests and, of course, a mutual love of parties. Since then, they had stayed in touch, always managing to cross paths at events like this one.
"Look who it is!" Louise exclaimed, spotting Alessia as she and Beau made their way through the crowd. "The Gilmore girl who actually knows how to have fun."
"Hey!" Alessia laughed, giving her a quick hug. "You two couldn't resist, huh?"
"Please," Madeline said, rolling her eyes playfully. "Like we'd miss this. So, what's the occasion? You look like you're floating on cloud nine."
Alessia grinned, unable to hide her excitement. "Just got into Yale. And, well, everywhere else too."
Madeline and Louise squealed with delight, pulling her into a group hug. "That's incredible!" Louise exclaimed. "This definitely calls for a drink."
"Or several," Beau added, winking at Alessia as they made their way to the drinks table.
The party continued to grow wilder as the night went on. Alessia and Beau moved from one group to another, chatting and laughing with their classmates. The drinks kept flowing, and the two of them quickly found themselves getting lost in the energy of the night.
At some point, Beau grabbed her hand and pulled her out onto the makeshift dance floor in the living room. They danced together, their movements becoming more fluid and carefree with each drink. The room spun around them, but Alessia didn't mind. She was having too much fun, too caught up in the moment.
As the night wore on, the alcohol buzzed in their veins, and the distance between Alessia and Beau disappeared completely. He leaned in close, his breath warm against her skin as he whispered something that was lost in the noise of the party. Alessia didn't need to hear the words to know what he meant. The tension between them had been building all night, and it finally reached a tipping point.
Before she knew it, Beau's lips were on hers, and the rest of the party faded into the background. Alessia responded instantly, her arms wrapping around his neck as they kissed, the world spinning around them in a blur of music, laughter, and flashing lights.
They stumbled out of the living room, finding an empty corner where they could be alone. Alessia's heart raced, the excitement of the night mixing with the alcohol and the thrill of being with Beau like this. Everything felt intense, heightened by the energy of the party and the buzz in her head.
They didn't stop to think or talk, their kisses growing more urgent as they pressed against each other, lost in the moment. The night passed in a blur of passion and intoxication, the world outside the party forgotten. All that mattered was the two of them, caught up in a moment that neither of them would soon forget.
